Advantages: Hot, not too commercialised but still plenty to see and do Disadvantages: Rubbish airport!
...before either, which kind of added to the attraction.
We booked a fortnight on the small island of Samos. You may not have heard of it so here's a bit of general info. Samos is an island in the Aegean sea. It's the nearest of the Greek Islands to Turkey - as litle as 1500metres away at it's nearest point. Like almost all of the Greek islands it's fairly steeped in history - in fact the mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras (you must remember him from Maths lessons, right?!?) was supposed to have lived there. The island has a number of villages and towns dotted around its coastline ranging from tiny fishing hamlets to well-developed, busy towns. Most of the beaches are shingle rather than sand. Away from the coastal areas, inland is almost another world - the terrain rises quite sharply and there's a number of fairly high peaks, I...

Advantages: Friendly staff, Fantastic views, Great Atmosphere, Good Restaurant Disadvantages: Top of a VERY steep hill (but taxis cheap)
...The Ino VillageHotel is at the top of a very steep hill on the edge of Samos Town, which makes things a little difficult for anyone with mobility problems, although a taxi from the centre will only cost a couple of Euro and the receptionist is happy to call one for you if you can't even face the walk down the hill.
The rooms are featured around an attractive pool, with plenty of sunbeds available in shade or sun. The standard rooms are bright and spacious, but do not have a full sea view or air conditioning. Superior rooms have air conditioning (supplement for which is payable locally) TV, mini fridge and little extras like original paintings on the walls and attractive curtains etc. All rooms have good sized balconies.
The hotel is family run and has a very good atmosphere. Breakfast is the usual continental buffet, with seating...

As we spent a leisure break at a De Vere Group hotel in May, and liked the standard of the accommodation offered, I made a reservation for Bed and Breakfast in a twin room at The VillageHotel.

On arrival we parked our car in the hotel's large car park, gathered our baggage and headed towards the hotel lobby and reception where we were greeted by a rather nice smiling young lady who swiftly checked us in.
She swiped my credit...

I have been a member of the health club for 3 years now, and my review will be primarily about this. The hotel was built just over 3 years ago and is part of the De Vere Group. The leisure club is in the basement of the hotel...I say basement , it is... more
