Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa, County Kerry

Advantages: superb accomodation, beautiful place,very hospitable,ideal for young children.
Disadvantages: A long drive from England

...As a family with young children we had tried various holidays in the past ranging from caravans to hotels, none of which had been remotely therapeutic.We had friends in the South of Ireland so decided to look for something in this area. I had been to County Kerry (south West ireland ) in my backpacking days and remembered it as being very dramatic and beautiful. I booked a week at Kennedy's farm online with no problems.We had to send a deposit and for a week in April May June,September or October the cost was 500 EUROS.In July and August this increases to 750 EUROS. I was a little apprehensive as this was a lot of money especially after counting in the cost of the ferry and the general cost of living in Ireland is not cheap.However when we arrived the accomodation was superb.We didn't use the upper part of the house at all... ...these ranged between $35 and a few hundred dollars. GENERAL BUSINESS FACILITIES There were six newly renovated meeting rooms. There was also internet available (thought I didn't have my laptop so am unsure if it was wifi and free). PRICE $714 for 6 nights between us is, I think, pretty cheap. That comes out at about £60 each per night which really is great value for money for a downtown apartment. CONCLUSION I was very impressed indeed by the deal Trailfinders had got for us in this hotel. The apartment really couldn't have been better, the service on the few occasions we needed it friendly and the location perfect. If you can get a deal as good as ours, I fully recommend this hotel. ..., juices, yoghurts and pastries. Tea/coffee and toast is served to your table. I think there are some great deals out there for this hotel, especially out of season - we certainly found the hotel to be really quiet at the beginning of September. Although located outside of the town centre and probably most handy if you have a car I think the hotel does offer a shuttle service into town a couple of times a day. The hotel is well located if you want to head out to do the ring of Kerry (sparing you the traffic of Killarney) - head to Rosbeagh beach for some great views and sea air. However the plus side of being outside of town is the lack of noise and traffic congestion. If you want a peaceful relaxing break with beautiful scenery this is the place to go!!... Read review
