The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral.

Advantages: Clean and fresh
Disadvantages: Like a rabbit Warren

The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70. We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in. Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70. If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel. A fair few incentives but to be honest we just want to use the leisure facilities. My wife is recovering from Breast Cancer and she has some back problems resulting from the Radiography. She ...

Hotel with ghosts?

Advantages: Beautiful historic setting
Disadvantages: none.

Chamber of the Court of Westminster was being demolished (called the star chamber as there where stars on the ceiling), Edward saved the Oak panelling and used this on the walls of what was the ground floor dining room although he used this room as a library. This room became known as the star room and also includes locally sourced wood from an old submerged forest at Leasowe and Meols. Edward also had a chair made of wood places in the garden facing the sea which he called 'Canute's Chair' and had carved on the back 'sea come not hither nor wet the sole of my foot'. There are many people that believe that King Canute himself actually visited and sat on this chair. Sadly there is no trace of this chair today. Near to where the chair was sited are the 'Mermaid Stones', these are boulders that are thought to have been placed here by ...

Safari Court Hotel

Advantages: Comfortable, international full service hotel
Disadvantages: Busy front desk

I have stayed at the Safari Court twice. Both times it was very busy and appears to be one of the most popular hotels in Windhoek for international travelers and businessmen. Everything was very professionally done. The rooms were well appointed with two double beds. The AC worked well. The bathrooms were fairly spacious. The reception area got very busy at times and one might have a wait to get their key. The lounge was comfortable with plenty of open seating areas for reading the local paper. The restaurant has excellent a la carte selections that were surprising for their quality. A buffet was available for breakfast and dinner with typical breakfast fare. The dinner buffet offered many selections including local game such as oryx and lots of different appetizers. My father liked the buffet best and I liked the a la carte ...
