Advantages: Location, modern facilities, "Wellness Centre" - pool, spa, sauna, steam room Disadvantages: No view from the room
...My wife and I stayed at the Grange City Hotel over the most recent bank holiday weekend. Having stayed in many Londonhotels that have tiny rooms and feel fairly overpriced, I was pleasantly surprised with the Grange City Hotel.
The room was fantastic, and huge! The king size bed, desk, radio, tv with local channels, business channels as well as several sports and foreign language channels, and the option of internet and pay movies. Each room has a safe, iron, and tea and coffee making facilites. The minibar was even computerised! (be careful you don't touch anything unless you want to pay for it!)
The bathroom was immense, modern, and had a large bath and a separate shower.
Our room was supposed to come with 2 monogramed bathrobes, although they weren't there when we arrived. The friendly staff of the Grange ensured that we...

Advantages: Great location, affordable prices Disadvantages: Dated decor!
...at the right time, and discover a super-duper deal where you can stay in London over for peanuts (*tries not to laugh at the idea of an economy based on different types of nuts*…I digress)
I found The European Hotel whilst browsing ‘budget hotel’ websites for London. I needed a room for an over night trip, but wasn’t prepared to pay over the odds in a fancy hotel, when I only needed somewhere to rest my head, yet reluctant to go down the hostel route. The European stood out for me for its price, but moreoever it’s location. It was centimetres away (well, on google maps – not in reality, that would be silly) from Kings Cross! It is a family run budget hotel that has been established for over 20 years. They also have 83 ‘interesingly’ decorated rooms.
I booked online at travelstay.com, had to pay a deposit of around £10, allowing me to settle...

Advantages: Cheap, Great Location Disadvantages: Everything Was Very Small, No Variety
...-suite facilities, how often do you spend in your room when you are on holiday anyway? The European hotel was certainly cheap, we booked a triple en-suite room which included breakfast for only around £26 per night per person, for London prices this is really good. What we got for our money was a very small, and I mean very small, room with a single and double bed squeezed inside, a wardrobe and one set of drawers, tea and coffee making facilities and a television with 5 channels. Oh and don't forget the bathroom, I would guess its size was around one and a half foot across by three and a half foot wide. The door had no lock, the sink was really small along with the shower, but it was there.
The small cost was obviously a big plus but the other great thing about the European Hotel was its very close proximity to King's Cross station where our train...

Basically, if you're considering staying here, you probably have a small budget. If this is the case, I can reccommend it as it is great value for money. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic yet clean, and the breakfast is more
