In terms of food the hotel has an a la carte restaurant with champagne bar which serves a changeable menu of seasonal produce cooked to perfection. Average A La Carte dinner prices are around £25. Table D'hote prices are about £20 The Hotel serves bar meals which are very similar in quality to the restaurant food, just cheaper. All homemade. The hotel also serves lunches, it does a really nice home made cottage pie. The Desserts are excellent all homemade and often innovative. The wine list is impressive.Breakfast is always fresh and from good quality local ingredients. Cooked to order it is always filling and delicious.
The Hotel is located in a cul de sac in walking distance of the centre of Drurham. The real drawback is that the hotel is situated next to a bus garage and close to the railway line. That said I have probably stayed on 14 or 15 different occasions and have never been woken by any noise.
If I have to stay in Durham its' the place I go to
