Oz Experience

Advantages: Goes off the beaten track, stops at places other buses wouldn't
Disadvantages: On bus all day, only goes 4 days a week, have to stop in certain places

The "big green bus" is a great way to get around Australia and meet like-minded travellers and backpackers whether you are in a group or travelling alone. I went alone and met heaps of friends I still keep in touch with.

It is known as the "party bus" but is pretty much what you make it, if you want a party you can but if you are after more of a travelling and exploring experience without the excessive consumption ...
...
The drivers can book you in to hotels at your destination and often stop at supermarkets or in towns so you can eat out/go to cheap shops and cook for yourself etc.

The bus never goes straight from one destination to another, there is always heaps of stops and things to see along the way, and because the bus doesn't have to be at it's destination at a certain time (as long as it gets there that day) if you see something you ... more

OZ EXPERIENCE - Best Experience Of My Life

Advantages: Value for money, Flexibility, Very knowledgeable guides, Felt very safe.
Disadvantages: Honestly cannot think of any

I initially considered Oz Experience as the company to provide my travel pass because their brightly colored leaflets complete with green buses caught my eye in a local Travel Agency and not because I had heard of them! I am so pleased that I picked up the leaflet and found out more from their web site. Oz Experience provide so much more than just a coach pass. They are brilliant at taking you to places off the beaten track where the majority of ...
...of the true Australia. They offer you the opportunity to join in with all sorts of activities and with no pressure at all. I chose the Bruce Pass, a one way Sydney to Cairns pass valid for 6 months. There are more than 20 passes to choose from covering all areas of Australia with names such as Dunny Door and Fair Dinkum. They also provide good value day trips. During my trip I went wine tasting in the Hunter Valley, spent two days at a working cattle ...

Experiencing Kiwi with Kiwi Experience

Advantages: fun, friendship, easy to book, hop on hop off
Disadvantages: set routes,busy in summer

Kiwi Experience sometimes has a bit of a reputation.... Tell people you're travelling with Kiwi and you can get a bit of a mixed reaction. For a start I'd definately say that Kiwi Experience is a big green bus for the young, and partying is pretty high on the agenda a lot of the time. I spent two weeks with Kiwi and had a night in binliners, two nights of drinking games and a couple of nights in the bar - and I hadn't even hit the party areas of ...
...young backpacker living life to the full in the evenings doesn't mean their daytime activities are lacking because everyone on the back seat is taking a nap... You can sign up for all sorts of activities from the adrenaline pumping skydiving and bungy jumping, to the arty bone carving sessions, to the cultural Moari experiences in Rotorua... and its all as easy as writing your name on a clipboard! You often get a discount as well, although in some ...

Hop on in Fiji!

Advantages: great ride on the big green bus, lots of options
Disadvantages: hard to mix with people

Feejee experience is part of a tour group that also owns OzExperience and KiwiExperience (in Australia and New Zealand). FeejeeExperience operates in Fiji. The company is aimed at travellers with no specific age group in mind and as such you get a wide age range on the tours. All the buses are huge and green - you can't miss them!! The company isn't strictly a tour company as such. What Feejee Experience is is a hop-on hop-off bus with different routes - there are only 2 in Fiji though. You buy your ticket either before you go or when you're there and after it's been activated on the first you you have a limit in which to use it - this is either 6 months or a year, I can't remember. The passes all include some activties although not many - the passes are pretty cheap. I think the fiji pass we bought which toured the main island was ...

All Around The World!

Advantages: Great site loads of info!
Disadvantages: Still need to save the moeny to go!

complete with route suggestions, Hostel and accommodation ideas, Information on getting around, price ideas to help you budget for your trip and information about visas etc. Transport and Passes This section gives information and prices on getting around when you arrive in your selected country, this is great because you can really get an idea of how long you need in each place and how much money you need to save. It gives ideas for all budgets from flights , buses, coaches to buying or hiring a car. I have been looking into the Kiwi and Oz Experience for my trip but I am still undecided. I think I will be doing the Kiwi Experience in New Zealand for a month and a half from Auckland to Christchurch but I am not convinced it is the best thing for me to do in Oz. Travel Insurance This is one of the most important things to ...
