Having been to many greek islands,i can tell you,that this is the worst i have ever visited.And that's because it has become so touristic,that the local element is almost lost.You hear people speaking english everywhere,as if you are in london and not in an aegean island. The capital is full of british and scandinabian bars and clubs,and it's very difficult to find traditional,beautiful greek tavernas.I would say that kos reminded me more of Ibiza than a greek island.During the night,the streets are full of noisy,drunk tourists. The beaches are ok,but i have seen much better, in islands like myconos,crete or syros. It is definitely not a romantic place and it's worth visiting only if you want to spend a week in clubs, being constantly drunk!!! It is really cheap,in every sense...
Thankyou - someone who agrees with me - we made the most of this place but having visited 14 greek islands in total this was by far the worst!

PACKED WITH TOURISTS IS STATING HOW POPULAR IT IS!YES YOU WILL FIND DRUNKEN TOURISTS ANYWHERE ON HOLIDAY BUT THERE ARE MANY PLACES WHERE YOU CAN GO GO TO AVOID THEM,KOS IS THE CAPITAL,CHOOSE PSALDI OR KEFALOS WHERE YOU WILL FIND A DIFFERENT TYPE OF TOURIST LOOKING FOR A DIFFERENT TYPE OF HOLIDAY!.
