This review is only information I have from my recent holiday in Greece, Kos.
Returning back from Kos, a few weeks ago was heartbreaking! I only wish now, that I had never come home. I stayed in the Imperial hotel in Kos town for 2 weeks with Thomas Cook. Only 2 minute walk from all the restaurants and bars! I shall start by telling you about my thoughts on the Imperial Hotel. Arriving at the hotel, my friend and I thought we could not have come to a worse place. It was 3 o'clock in the morning and the way we had been taken by the transfer coach, it looked as though we were in the middle of nowhere! However, the hotel looked lovely! On arrival the reception staff were lovely, guiding us to our room, which is rather unusual these days. The hotel rooms
are basic, but then again everything is basic in kos! All we needed was the essentials. 2 beds, shower, balcony! The hotel rooms were very clean, and the towels were changed every other day. Also, in every room in the imperial there is a fridge, with a mini bar inside. Very cheap so very tempting! The only down side is that you cannot put anything of your own in the fridge, the cleaners will take it out. My friend and I stayed bed and breakfast in the Imperial; I must say that it wasn't that great. Only made it 3 times out of the 14 days, due to being out all night! The breakfast consists of ham and cheese, bread rolls and cereal. The pool is lovely in the Imperial, very clean. Also, the pool bar is lovely; serve all kinds of food at reasonable prices. The staff at the pool bar were also very nice. I would recommend anyone to stay in the Imperial Hotel, as everyone was very friendly and it was very clean!
As we stayed with Thomas Cook, we were offered to go on the bar crawls. First bar crawl was in Kardamena. I cannot tell you much about Kardamena; however it was very lively there from what we seen. Lots of pubs and clubs however like most places now lots of PR's trying to get us into the club.
About a 5 minute walk from the hotel, you will find bar street. Its just one street that consists of 15 lively bars! The staff are very friendly and always offering free shots, not to good when you're dancing on the bar! We found that West, Heart Rock and wild Bull were great places to drink. Wild Bull had a nice couch area to sit and drink and watch the world pass by! Also, they do But One Get One Free on all cocktails! This is great. If you don't want the lively part of Bar Street, just around the corner there are nice bars to relax.
Food in Kos is delicious, and a few days of being there we discovered the gyros! A Greek kebab! They sell them in nearly every restaurant, very cheap and very tasty! Just around the corner from the Imperial hotel there is a lovely restaurant call 'la farma' if I remember correctly. Very friendly staff, complementary Bread for starters, and water melon on the house for pudding. Walking further down there is beautiful restaurants at responsible prices, every where sells light snacks for lunch or big meals. Most of the bars and restaurants look out on the harbour, where you can get a boat to Turkey for only 20 Euros! I would advise to book for a Tuesday as that's market day. Its only 25 minutes on the boat, however you do need to take your passport.
We were offered to go on an excursion with Thomas Cook to the water park; it cost 24 Euros that included our coach and tickets. From outside the water park doesn't look that great, however once inside its very exciting. It has lot of different things to do. We arrived at 10 o'clock and were picked up at 3.30pm. Not very long but I would defiantly say it was worth it. It has a lazy river, which is very relaxing floating around on a rubber dingy. Also, there is lots of weird but wonderful water slides! In my opinion, the best part of the water park is the wave pool! Depending on the amount of children in the pool it can get very aggressive! This is great fun. Even though I did not go with children, I did notice there were lots for them to do there, including a children area. Also, there is about lots of life guards on duty all the time, which will put parent's minds at ease. The food and drinks and the water park was quite expensive, but not to bad. Great day for everyone.
I must say the beaches in Kos town were not great! Sand is like gravel in most places. However, the water is very clean and most of the sun beds in the area are free! We went to Paradise Beach with Thomas Cook which is the other side of the island. To be honest, I wish we had made our own way there on the bus, which is only 4 euros each way. We paid 17 Euros each to go to paradise beach; we both could have got there and back for this price. The sun beds at Paradise Beach, are 7 euros for 2 people. Which is not expensive! As we went with Thomas Cook, we got 10 percent off on all water sports. They have everything you need there from jet skis to the flying fish! I must warn that Kos doesn't have the best heath and safety, and my friend and I did get badly hurt on the flying fish. As the beaches in Kos town are not that great, I would recommend going to paradise beach for the day, as it is well worth it.
Kos is a very beautiful place, with lots of lovely people there. I would recommend anyone to go there! However, I would not recommend people to go with young children as there is not much for them to do. Especially with the great night life there. I loved Kos so much that I am going back in the next couple of weeks to work in the Heart Rock Bar, in Bar street!

Very good review, next time I recommend Self Catering, that way you can use the Fridge, also if you dont want to do your own breakfast there is always eating out. About children, the beauty of Greece is that it is great for Children, lots of free entertainment, called Beach and Sea, also they are welcomed by Taverna owners not like our eateries over here.
