Kos is the most peacful and relaxing holiday you could ever wish ford.
I have been to Kos around 4 times, my partner has been around 10 times!!!
No matter when you go the scenery is always beautiful and the weather is to die for!
We visit Kos Town which is lovely and peaceful, a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of the shops and bars, you can walk to the old town where all the activity is in 5mins.
A must for people visiting Kos is to hire either a bike, scooter or a car and visit all the little towns such as
Kardamena - the busy, young, lively town. Zia - up in the mountains this secluded little spot is very tiny literally one street long. Tingaki - a lovely market town with nice bars and gorgeous views and not to forget Psalidi - home to the baby peacocks...take some dry cat food and the peacocks will come up to you.
If ths isnt enough to convince you then i would be shocked....if you want the perfect holiday visit Kos
If you are wanting a family holiday i would suggest staying in Lambi in Kos Town it is only 5-10mins walk from the main shops and bars but it also has a few family run tavernas and restaurants which are all amazing and the many hotels that Lambi does offer are all either next to te beach or a very short stroll away. All the hotels are family run and are well looked after, everyone is always willing to help, a few hotels i would recommend would be the Alice Springs..the owners are lovely and get to know everyone personally, and have a lot of nightly entertainment for families. Bahamas Hotel.. this is ideal for a family holiday the pool is very big and they offer great facilities to keep children happy for house. Lydia..this is a very well maintained hotel and the rooms are beautiful, although slightly out of the way it is still only 2mins from the centre of Lambi. Now Lambi is around an hours coach trip from the airport and so is not too bad. There are many shops and it is a worthwhile experience.
If you want a lively holiday then it would be better to take accommodation in Kardemena, this is around a 2hour trip from the airport and is a very busy place located at the rear of a mountain and is full of life!! You can travel over to Kos Town about 40mins by car and 1hour by scooter which is signposted all the way. Very handy if you feel you need to slow down.
Tingaki is a mix of Lambi and Kardemena..it is an up and coming area and is only 10mins away from Lambi so it is not too bad location wise..it depends on what type of atmosphere you are looking for...Just like Lambi this is also an hour away from the Airport so after the 4hour flight it wont be to exhausting to travel to your hotel

Poli Kala, we are off to Kos next year (kalymos) at the quiet end of the Island. Do try other Greek Islands and resorts, its easy to get trapped into one, but they are all lovely, as long as you do your research, and only end up in the Kalimaki type places if that is what you are after. What you wrote was helpful, but you could have said so much more. Location is always a help. Thanks. J.
