Wow! I've just come back from a week in Kos staying in Kardamena and I can honestly say I had the best week of my life!
Kardamena is the most lifely area of Kos and I would highly reccomend it to anyone who wants a holiday with fantastic nightlife. So much so me and my friend plan on returning to Kos next summer to work for three months! Yet even though the town is lively at night and filled with young people dont let this put you off as the music turns off at twelve (the atmosphere stays though!) so it won't disturb you. There are two fantastic clubs in Kardamena Status and Starlight which hold both foam and water parties at cheap prices. However even though at night the town comes alive during the day its quite relaxed and has a lovely beach with watersports.
There was no trouble on my holiday either. I know holiday towns get a lot of bad reviews but on my stay in Kardamena i saw police cars patrolling but never any trouble. I felt safe the whole time i was there and the walk home at night was fine too as everywhere is lit and as long as you stick to main roads and not the back streets at night i see no problems.
The island is tiny! On our holiday me and my friend took botha day trip to a water park and kos town which was the other side of the island and this journey took 30 minuites. Therefore everything is accessible and theres plenty to do and see.
I would highly reccomend taking a holiday to kos, especially Kardamena. The island is amazing.

Advantages: weather, bars and restaurants, bus service and Greek people. Disadvantages: Kos town is very lively after 11pm for families with young children. beaches mainly stoney
