Sophia Beach Hotel/Apartments - Kos town
Review of Sophia Beach Aparthotel, Kos by Grahame00

Advantages: within 1.5 km of Kos Town, quiet, plenty of sunbeds as a lack of guests.
Disadvantages: rude staff, dirty/filthy rooms, poor A/C, poor plumbing

Was in this hotel in August 2007. From the word go we were disappointed. On arrival at 3 am the temperature in the room was about 30 degrees. After a week there it broke down completely, taking 2 days of constant complaining before they would call out an engineer. After he left it still was rubbish. The fridge door was rusty, all the shelves were broken, and the freezer section resembled Siberia, with ice of over 3" thick. Maid service was poor, ...
...floors were washed, the bathroom was never cleaned, had black fungus on the walls, and ceiling. Shower was also black, and the dirt on the shower hose about 10 mm thick. It was so bad my 8 year old refused to use it. Beds were comfy enough, although sheets were often ripped, and only changed once a week, despite notice promising every 3 days. TV remote control was 20 euros a week. To make sure you paid for it the staff had removed all the buttons ... Read review

Club Atki,the good...the bad..and...he noisey!!!
Review of Akti Club Hotel Kardamena, Kos by SCHA1

Advantages: Not in the middle of town, plenty of beach space, beautiful
Disadvantages: Mixed groups, families, groups of girls & boys

Ok well its been just over a week since i got back, and my tan has already faded!!! Devastated! Lets start with the looks. The hotel is very well set out, modern and clean. The staff are very helpful, and all speak perfectly good english. Well the rooms. I went with the girlfriend, and we paid roughly £500 each with Thomas Cook. The rooms are tiny. You have to pay a 50Euro deposit on arrival for the remote for the tv or you cant turn it over. Its ...
...didn't work. You get two English speaking channels, which is Eurosport, and BBC news, the advetsing of Sky Tv was very misleading! The air conditioning is very good, however, as the temparture of your body drops during the night and outside, the room gets very cold, and the remote for the air conditioning is un-removable from next to the air con. So when it gets to about 3 or 4 in the morning its time to decide who gets up and turns it off. The ... Read review

The Family Village, Kos
Review of Family Village, Kos by JocelynDJ

Advantages: lovely rooms, remote controlled air conditioning, friendly staff, varied food
Disadvantages: on a very steep hill, unsuitable for families or those with limited mobility,

In June 2006 my partner and I (both 24) had a fantastic two week holiday at this hotel. LOCATION The Hotel is located on a steep hill. The beach is at the bottom of the hill, and the walk back to the hotel may prove difficult for some. Having no health problems or children, this was not a problem for us but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has limited mobility as even if you avoid the beach some of the rooms are a steep climb from ...
...you should also consider this as despite being called the "Family Village" many of the families we met were not happy with this aspect of the hotel, as even if they stayed around the pool and restaurant, their room could be a five or ten minute walk up a hill. STAFF The staff were friendly and polite. We found that they greatly appreciated any effort to speak Greek. ACOMMODATION The rooms were large and the majority had a sea view. They were cleaned ... kardamos hotel and studios
Review of Kardamos, Kos by geordiepaul777

Advantages: lively, fun, busy
Disadvantages: slightly out of town

there are 2 parts to the kardamos hotel in kos. one, is the hotel itself, very much an 18-30 resort with small rooms and lively atmosphere, the other is the kardamos studios, directly opposite the hotel accross the swimming pool, which are more traditionally greek, with white walls and tiled floors, and a great view over the town of kardamena and the agean. the facilities in both the hotel and studios are basic, but then what more do you need for ...
...away that you dont get all of the noise from the lively town and bar street, but not far enough away to give you troule walking to and from. about a ten minute walk door to bar ;) the pool at the hotel is awesome, slightly chilly early in season, but maintained well, and always busy and lively. the pool bar serves great food and cheap drinks all day every day! ...
