Advantages: Great season, great package Disadvantages: None that I can think of
1991/92 welcomed a return on NBC for this great show about nothing. The writer Larry David had to hire extra help on this season beacuse NBC wanted 22 episodes, Larry and Jerry could feel the change from the first two series that the public was really taking to the show.
This welcomed a return from all of the regulars from the first two seasons, Jerry Seinfeld (of course), Jason Alexander, (George Costansa) Michael Richards, (Kosmo Kramer) and Julia Louis Dreyfus.(Elaine Bennis) Each one of them was very happy everything was working out and they could all have a pay rise too !!
Jason Alexander who plays George Costansa wanted more storylines for his character because he didn't think that George really had a great precense in the first two seasons. Larry and Jerry agreed to this as Jerry would always write the other cast their ...
Advantages: You get 3jam-packed CDs, a great lyric book and additional photo/personal recollections book. Disadvantages: There are none I can think of.
some fantastic photographs by the likes of Pennie Smith, personal accounts from Clash associates and friends like the infamous Lester Bangs (from his book "Psychotic reactions and Carburetor Dung"...odd title but bound to be a good read!) and Kosmo Vinyl, a close pal of the band.
...When you look back on the image of the Clash; an often talked about subject, you realise how different they actually LOOKED, so often! Really quite an achievement! The bottom line was and still is that the Clash weren't afraid to experiment and listening to "Clash On Broadway" proves once and for all that they were more than simply The Sex Pistols rivals in '77!!
Enjoy this well put-together 3 CD box set, by one of the most influential and talented bands of our time... ...
Advantages: Tons of tracks, lots of great extras, digital remastering, good value considering its really 5 albums in one Disadvantages: You might already have most of this on separate CDs, expensive(ish), third CD ain't too great
'.
CD 2 contains the best parts of London Calling, as well as the previously unreleased 'One Emotion'. It's also got the stunning 'Tommy Gun', with the most stupendously amazing drum beat you'll here in any song.
CD 3 is a tad crap but that's probably to do with my musical preferences. By 1980 the Clash were experimenting more with reggae and ska, which I don't particularly like. However, it does have the stunning 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' and the full 7-minute version of 'Straight to Hell'. There's also 2 unreleased tracks and a live version of 'Lightening Strikes Twice'
As well as the three CDs you get a lyrics booklet, and a biography booklet edited by Kosmo Vinyl with loads of quotes and behind the scenes information about all the tracks and albums the Clash did.
The CDs are worth the £25 alone, so this is a neat addition ...
