Kuala Lumpur, with its glittering mordern skyline, is not just another bustling Asian business city. There's a string of elegant colonial buildings in its centre, a colourful Chinatown with wonderful night markets and a vibrant little India, which we visited once or twice during our 3 week stay there, I would definatly reccommend it.

The nightlife is lively enough and, like everything else in Kuala Lumpur, very muliticultural. Head out to the trendiest superb, Bangsar Baru, for a non-stop string of bars, like Ronnie Q's, The Roof, Soleil's and Finnegan's Irish pub. Finish up with a bowl of noodles with the local clubbers at the central market china town, thats what I did (shhhh!). If you've got time to spare, there are plenty of easy extursions to hill stations, fishing villages and Hindu caves.

In the city, the streets are lined with hawkers selling Malay, Thai, Indian and Chinese food, which is often excellent, although you should avoid salads and ice cubes because of the contaminated water.

While your there don't forget to visit the new F1 track and Petronas towers, the tallest in the world! Near there is Chinatown a massive maze with many street vendors. If you can't take the pace, cool down in the lake Gardens with its parks and paddle boats, which is very relaxing.

Overall a wonderful place to visit if you want a balanced holiday of relaxing and hectic enviroments. Very cultural (if you like that kind of thing). I recommend Kuala Lumpur to everyone with a cultural spirit.
