A definite oasis.

Advantages: Relaxing, green outdoor environment.
Disadvantages: Seemingly dirty sea water.

Green Island is a circular artificial peninsula, connected to the mainland by a path. The location is Dasman, on the Arabian Gulf Street. It is open from 8am to 11pm. Entry requires payment of a small fee. The peninsula offers a few restaurants, a crescent shaped beach frequented by birds, a playground, plenty of benches, trees and of course pleasant views along the coast. ...these are not regular. In my opinion Green Island is one of the few places in Kuwait, where you can relax in a peaceful environment. The only downside is that the sea water does not appear to be clean, so bathing might not be a good option, although very tempting. ...

Rare design - great photo opportunities.

Advantages: Great views from the top and from the bottom.
Disadvantages: Outside needs new paint and inside it's time for refurbishment.

Kuwait Towers are the landmark of Kuwait. These three water towers are located on the Arabian Gulf Street in Dasman, on the same peninsula as the Aqua Park. The design is pretty original as the two main towers are sticks with spheres stuck onto, whereas the third tower is a stick, which illuminates the other two in the night. The spheres are decorated with round tiles in different shades of blue. The main tower houses two restaurants (one buffet ...
...latter) and a cafe. The a la carte restaurant is in the upper sphere and placed on a revolving deck. If you go for the views only, it costs KD1 and you will take a lift to the lower sphere, where the cafe is. Views are great both day and night. On the walls there are some photos of the towers after the Iraqi invasion, with interesting comments, such as "the barbarian invaders even destroyed the air-conditioning". ...
