Advantages: Timeless theme of resistance to political authority, continuation of Oedipus, great dramatic language Disadvantages: No real 'tragic hero', not much action
After unintentionally finding that Aeschylus? Seven Against Thebes formed a logical continuation of Sophocles? Oedipus Rex, I was pleased to discover the latter?s Antigone completed a trilogy of sorts, dealing with the same themes ? the curse of Oedipus and his descendents. Of course, it isn?t a proper trilogy, it?s not even by the same playwright. What?s more, Antigone ? although in the mythological chronology last ? was written prior to Oedipus Rex. That?s the advantage with dealing with well-known mythological themes. It?s like writing about the death of Christ, and then about the nativity.
The plays aren?t intended to go together, and it?s no real disadvantage not to have seen/read Oedipus Rex first (specially as most people know the basics), but they do naturally complement each other and will probably be better approached in ...
Advantages: Clean, basic accomodation Disadvantages: In the middle of traffic hell
was painless, I'd booked online and just waved my confirmation at the polite chap at the desk. He gave me a key for my trouble and a map of Toulouse. He even helpfully circled the city centre for us, and it was telling that the hotel was quite some distance away - don't let the 'Kyriad Toulouse Centre' name fool you, it's easily within walking distance but certainly not central.

OK, the cups for the tea and coffee were flimsy plastic that you wouldn't trust to hold scalding hot liquid, but we weren't in France to hide in a hotel room ...
While on holiday we visited Montpellier Le Vieux (Montpellier the old man)
This natural park is in the area called Aveyron in the south of France about 12k from Millau along the d110.
.
This is a natural site known for its rock formations its fauna and flora. It is a spectacular sight of grey coloured black causse rock that has been shaped by the wind, the rain and time to make the most amazing shapes. The whole of this area of France is very rocky. This small spectacular, site Montpellier le vieux was discovered and developed in the late 1800?s early 1900?s into the site we found.
We found this site by following a map we had it was not really very easy to find there were few signs along the road and we did find one leading to a narrow road which went quite a long way before we reached parking for Montpellier le vieux.
There ...
