Lively Liverpool

Advantages: I live here
Disadvantages: Some shops aren't here, the weather

away but well worth it on a sunny day. WEATHER: This is the main disadvantage. Liverpool is in the North & on the coast therefore it is often breezy and cold. It seems to rain a lot. Even on the rare summer days it can be quite breezy, especially at Albert Dock. PLACES TO STAY: Obviously I can't vouch for how good they are as I live here. I have stayed in the Adelphi hotel for 2 nights and found it to be satisfactory, although over-priced. Britannia Adelphi Hotel Ranelagh Place, Liverpool, Merseyside, England, L3 5UL Tel: 01517097200 Fax: 01517080743 E-Mail: res700@britanniahotels.com Single En Suite £60 - £70 per night Double En Suite £75 - £95 Twin En Suite £75 - £95 Family En Suite £105.5 - £125 The hotel has its own pool, bars and restaurants as well as a nightclub and is ideally placed ...

Review of Liverpool in general

Lively Liverpool

Advantages: Lively,exuberant,night life. Cheap food.
Disadvantages: Rainy .

Liverpool is one of my favourite cities in the UK,as it is for the well known American born travel writer Bill Bryson. The city has a wonderful waterfront with attractive 20 th century buildings such as the Cunard Building, the Liver Birds, and then there is the lovingly restored Albert Dock, one of Britain's most popular tourist attractions. There are architectural gems in the city such as the elegant Adelphi Hotel, the arcades, and some of the buildings in Water Street. Matthew Street has associations with the Beatles, and there is the famed Walker Art Gallery that is well worth a visit. Liverpool has a lively night life. There are some magnificent pubs in this old maritime city such as the Philarmonic,a great favourite of the late John Lennon.Eating out opportunities are stupendous with the likes of Indian,Somali, Greek, Chinese ...

Brompton L3

Advantages: Very easy to fold and good to ride
Disadvantages: Not fantastic at off road

I have a Brompton L3 that is now approx 3 ½ years old. I use it everyday to commute to work - I cycle to the station, fold it up and take on the train and then cycle the other end about 1 ½ miles to work. I love the bike and although it was expensive I think it has been good value for money considering how often I have used it. It folds up easily and quickly and so many people are amazed when they see it folding. I have found that it is so small when folded that I manage to keep it under my desk at work. I have bought one of the front panniers and it was a great decision. I can keep work papers (and my handbag) in it and when I take it off the bike to say go into a meeting, still looks relatively professional. I have found that the tyres puncture very easily unless you keep the tyres pumped up (you really need to check that this ...
