Advantages: Cheap Holiday in the Sun Disadvantages: Not a 5* UK so don't expect it
...We booked to go to the All Inclusive PyramisaResort in Sharm, a bargain at £1,900 for 2 adults 1 child for 2 weeks. I began to look at reviews.
Oh my god!!!! I was visiting a cross between Fawlty Towers and Hell Kitchen according to the reviews held on some sites. Thankfully thanks to some "honest" reviews and despite the bombs we traveled on the 13th August and I am so glad we did. I have just returned from the best holiday ever, in a beautiful country with the friendliest people I have ever met.
Yes the hotel has some issues, but weighing these up against the fantastic price and holiday experience they are not worth the scathing and unfair comments listed here.
Well here goes....
We arrived at the Pyramisa shortly after 10pm on the Saturday night. We took a taxi from the airport (4 adults 2 children and cases £20) the med...

Advantages: Clean hotel and very friendly staff Disadvantages: Not up to 5* status
...Having just returned from the Pyramisa, I feel I had to write a review about this hotel because of all the other derogatory remarks that seem to have been made about the place.
Like everyone else on here, we were concerned after we had booked it to come on Trip Adviser and see that people were giving the Pyramisa really bad reviews..after all, we only get one 2-week holiday abroad a year and we really didn't want to waste it on something that was horrible.
So, nervously we arrived and were actually pleasantly suprised from the moment we entered the hotel to the moment we left. The reception staff were fine - okay, not overly friendly, but then I suppose you get worse from staff in English hotels - but we were checked into our room immediately and our cases arrived very shortly afterwards.
The room itself was exactly like the one...

Advantages: Location Disadvantages: Too quiet for some
...We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in July 2007. We had previously spent a week here in 1997 and remembered it as a comfortable, quiet and well-positioned hotel. Our memories were correct and in the intervening years the place had been improved with a new pool, better access to the beach, as well as a general freshening up (it is probably 30 years old).
On our latest visit we booked half-board, land view room. The rooms are very acceptable. Most of the rooms are linked by walkways around a 6-floor high inside atrium which give a great feeling of openness when seated in public areas. We actually got a very good deal through Travel Republic so we were already feeling good about the place. We are not sports minded and as this hotel is marketed as a sports resort I think anyone looking for modern. high-tech facilities would...

Through my own experience, this is the worst hotel I have ever travelled to out of the dozen's that I have. The Pyramisa is one of the reasons that I would never travel back to Cairo due to it's lack of almost every hotel necessity. Firstly, it was... more
