Advantages: Great for travelling, friendly, easy to get around, clean Disadvantages: Swiss German is impossible to understand unless you grew up with it!
Last year (July 2005-6) I had the great pleasure and honour of living in Basel as part of my degree. I was working for one of the many chemical companies near the centre, and living in one of the smaller suburbs, Muttenz. I've been back in England now for three months (at the time of writing), and I miss it all like crazy.
If ever there was a good place to start, it's the beginning. Basel is riddled with history; originally a Celtic tribe lived here, until the Romans moved in circa 40BC to Augusta Raurica. Key points in the development of the city include gaining the influence and power of the Bishopric in the 7th century, settlement at various times by both the Frankish and Allemaniac tribes of modern-day France and Germany respectively, and ultimately the integration into the Swiss Confederation in 1501. 28 years later it became ...

Advantages: Great food, reasonable fixed price menu Disadvantages: None

THE EXPERIENCE:
La Chope (which apparently translates as the tankard) is actually a fish restaurant. I?m not really a fish person (ok, that ...

Advantages: Reasonably priced bras and lingerie, excellent staff and services Disadvantages: You may struggle to find your size
(Warning: throughout this review, the words ?boobs?, ?boobies?, ?bazookas? and occasionally ?breasts? will pop up at an alarming rate. If you?re not in favour of any of the above, please use the ?back? button and exit left. Thank you.)
It?s always been quite nice to have a womanly figure ? so what if men notice your boobs before your face? At least they?re looking...at least, that?s the confidence boosting way to look at things! Anyway, whilst we?re on the subject of ?boosting?, it?s pretty incredible how when I visited one of my local La Senza stores the other week, I was informed that my bazookas had boomed up a couple of bra sizes without the aid of knives and other messy instruments. It?s most women?s fantasy to be able to say that but I met the news with utter dread, only to be consoled by the lovely shop worker who kindly told ...
