Advantages: close to the beach, casino in the hotel, clean and friendly Disadvantages: bus or taxi ride to the old San Juan, beach too small
story) but I did see Old SanJuan and one of the Forts which are a tourist attraction.
I am not going to write a description of SanJuan itself as this review is about the hotel really. Overall, I was pleased with the room and service. We did have a leak from the bathrom above but when I reported it twice, someone came within minutes to check it out. They claimed they fixed the source each time but unfortunately, the water kept dripping on the bathroom floor so I gave up. Let the next guest deal with it... :)
Like I mentioned, there is food on the same street which is Ashford Avenue. There is a nice place called I think La Patisserie where you can get a good meal - more lunch type place. There is a Mexican and Italian restaurant too. Some nice stores with clothes and home decor. Good place to have breakfast is Danny's which is about ...
Advantages: Friendly staff, lovely pool, clean room Disadvantages: Dynamic currency conversion on our room costs paid by debit card
We chose to visit the Holiday Inn Alicante Playa de SanJuan for a week in July after having three very pleasant stays in Express by Holiday Inns in the UK. We were not sure what to expect in terms of quality, however it was probably one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in.

THE HOTEL

Advantages: Luxury At A Good Price Disadvantages: Isolated
My wife and myself holidayed here feb 2005. On arrival to the island and traveling through the various resorts en route to the hotel you notice how dirty the island is, it made you wonder how clean the hotel complex was gonna be. We were amazed on arrival to how spottlesly clean the complex was and how friendly and helpful the staff are. We tried to unload our own luggage from the coach but was stopped by the porter who we tipped at the airport who made sure our luggage made it to our room.
The resort itself is huge with its own transport system which you can stop wherever you like!
The rooms are big light and airy and well appointed with a hairdryer, aircon unit, a well stocked mini bar(which was refilled daily and if was running low you could phone reception and get it topped up early), sat TV. The hot water was sometimes a bit ...
