Notre Dame Cathedral is a Parisian Catholic church which welcomes parishioners from all over the world, for worship, as well as travellers who come to appreciate over 700 years of divinity and fine architecture. I've been past it on several visits but this year fate called me in on a historic day, one remembered in sadness: the day the Pope John Paul II died. My sister and I walked around this massive, beautiful interior and we slowly realised the priest was praying sadly, amid holy incense and across the floor a growing 'pond' of candles around a photograph of the ailing Pope . We thought he had died but other visitors quietly advised us that he was probably in his last hours. That evening he died and the next evening we went back to Notre Dame and took part in his special Mass, attended by the French Prime Minister ...

La Chope

Advantages: Great food, reasonable fixed price menu

On our recent trip to the Loire Valley Mr Tart and myself arrived in Tours quite late on our first night. We drove down to Tours from Paris. We were going to stop for something to eat on the way but in the end decided to make our way straight to Tours and get settled in the hotel and then find something close by. A couple of minutes from our hotel we came across this place and were really glad that we did. LOCATION: La Chope is located at 25 Avenue Grammont. Our hotel was on the same road so we just came across it. It is about a ten minute walk from Tours? old town. The restaurant doesn?t stand out and the sign is not particularly bright so make sure you look out for it. Nokia 1600 - Handy Little Phone

Advantages: Basic, but good for people not used to using mobiles
Disadvantages: -

phone. A colleague of mine is always swapping phones and offered me one of his. I was just looking for something cheap and cheerful that kept me happy when I had to use my back up plan, so I took him up on his offer and he bought me the Nokia 1600 into work the next day. The Nokia 1600 is a very basic phone however would be ideal for someone just starting to use a mobile phone. I find that the technology these days is a little too advanced for the likes of our dear old grandma's, mine has my last Sharp phone that I had and ideally she would be better off with the likes of the Nokia 1600. Not extremely stylish to look at and something I wouldn't choose as my main phone. They come in various colours however the one I have is grey and black. On the reverse it has the Nokia and also the orange logo to establish which network it is meant for ...
