Advantages: Lots to see and do, the metro, Disadvantages: Eating out can be expensive, everyone else is there too (everyone loves Paris)
...she moved to Norway and this time we spent more time in the city and we had a chance to see a lot. So based on this it goes without saying that Paris has a special place in my heart.
I'm a bit "nervous" when it comes to making this trip report. Other than Rome and London, I guess Paris is one of the classical destinations that many people end up visiting at one point in their lives. I hope that people will find this trip report both helpful and entertaining.
Planning the trip
When the special offer from SAS came along we decided to go for it. The ticket were "only" about 170 € per person and we would fly SAS' new direct flight from Stavanger to Paris. The standard challenge when going on a trip like this is finding out which hotel to use. The last time we ended up at a hotel near Place de la Republique but this time we ended up...

...not mean that other sights would not be interesting or enjoyable, and also what I enjoyed may not be what you will enjoy.
I intend in the future to write more detailed opinions on individual sights in Paris, which is why I have included little detail here. These are suggestions for places I would visit, in ranked order of priority (best first):
~ Le Tour Eiffel (Eiffel Tower) ~
The traditional sight associated with Paris, the Eiffel Tower is a definite must-see. Walk down the Champs de Mars or up to the Trocadero on either side of it for photos, and then if you can afford it (it is rather pricey, about 65F (£6.50)) go up the tower itself.

Advantages: Always something to do, beautiful place. Disadvantages: Not enough hours in the day
...of the Arc, you have to climb more steps, so far the lifts have never worked when I've got there... It's hard work but well worth it. You can see the Sacre Coeur from here, and you can appreciate the distance you have to travel between the two places. You get to see the layout of Paris, it's beautifully arranged, with lots of long straight roads, and if you go at Christmas time, you see all the lights.
You can get a few souvenirs from inside the Arc too. Walking down is far easier than going up!
Shopping!
A huge well known shopping center is called Gallerie la Fayette. It's great, some of it is a little bit pricey, and as usual the building is beautiful on the inside. At Christmas time they have an ENORMOUS Christmas tree, its lovely to look around even if you don't buy anything.
Catacombs.
I've not been able to visit...
