Advantages: great place Disadvantages: to many people from home
...i first went to salou in 1995 with my three kids and my wife,it was our first holiday abroad.we stayed just on the outskirts of salou in a place called la pineda, and i have to say it was like heaven.we stayed in appartments called cye marina, they were pretty basic but the view from the fourth floor balcony was stunning.
we stayed for two weeks and went into the centre of salou on at least seven occasions.the centre of salou is full of palm trees and bars of every european country so no one is left without a local to go to.also all the stalls and shops are just jam packed with souvenirs and football tops and everything else you could be looking for.
when we went back in 1997 and 1999 we realised that salou was becoming more popular with the british tourist and in a way it has spoilt salou because when we went in 1995 it was nearly...

Advantages: Reasonably priced, hot, fun Disadvantages: Becoming quite commercialised

Most of their dishes follow the traditonal Catalan/Spanish recipes and are simply delicious. There are a lot of British bars (one of the best being the Railway Bar run by a couple of ex-reps). All the bars provide some kind of entertainment, ranging from quizzes and karaoke to flamenco dancers and tequila races. (Piece of advice, that last one is better to watch than to take part in...) There are numerous clubs in Salou itself but one very popular one is Pacha (originating in Ibiza), just outside Salou in La Pineda. Advantages: Cheap, Sunny Lots to do Disadvantages: None
...will find plenty to do - I visited the Nou Camp football stadium and museum, the 1992 Olympic stadium, La Sagrada Familia (and other works by Gaudi) and the city centre itself.
Closer to Salou, on one side you will find the fishing town of Cambrils and to the other, La Pineda. Both are worth a visit, but I especially recommend la Pineda as it has a superb Waterpark to amuse all ages.
I travelled to Salou as one of a couple, but I believe anyone of any age would have a superb holiday here. It certainly seemed popular with families. The weather was fantastic throughout my two-week stay, not even a hint of rain or clouds. Enjoy it....

I went to salou way back in 2006 but i remeber my vist very well. The hotel was presented well, cleaniness is key in my eyes and the rooms were cleaned daily with new sheets and towels. The hotel is in a prime position for the beach or fuetaventura theme more
Recently, my hectic student lifestyle has been playing havoc with my natural good looks (!) Endless parties, drinking and late nights have resulted in me acquiring a rather nice set of, what looks like, black eyes. Well, okay, if I’m honest,... more
