Advantages: Very catchy tracks, easy to listen to, not too expensive Disadvantages: Over-rated on release causing mixed views about quality
'Libertad' is the second album from Velvet Revolver, it has been met by a mixture of both positive and negative responses, however in my opinion it shows the same excellence as their debut album entitled 'Contraband'.
I think that the vocalist, Scott Weiland's voice is much more impressive on this album than on the previous one. This is understandable since during the recording of contraband he was going through rehab.
There was a lot of hype about the album before it was released, with various magazines etc publishing that it was to be the biggest rock album of the year.
For this reason i believe that many people were disappointed when they first heard it as it didn't live up to their expectations. I have to admit that when i first heard it, i thought it wasn't exactly all that i had heard it was.

Advantages: Guitars, Vocals Disadvantages: Could be last album
**Introduction**
This is the second and possibly final album from Metal supergroup Velvet Revolver. For those of you not aware, Velvet Revolver consists of Ex Guns and Roses Slash, Duff and Matt Sorum plus Dave Kushner on Guitar and Lead vocals from Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland. The reason I say possible final album is because Lead singer Scott Weiland left the group after being pushed out by the other members of the band.
**Libertad**
This album was released in 2007, The band produced the album with Brendan O'Brian who has produced with a wide range of artists including the likes of Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam, Aimee Mann, Audioslave and also Scott Weiland's Stone Temple Pilots. Libertad features 14 tracks in total with the last one being a hidden track called Don't Drop That Dime.
**The Album**
1 Let It Roll ...
Advantages: Good rock 'n' roll rhythms with some nice more alternative moments Disadvantages: Cant get you out of my head. The mix could be dirtier
recently pass away and was probably a sore spot for him but his lyrics in for a brother really hit home, his other personal experience of prison, shown in the last fight, really dont hit home but i feel that is mainly because of the rhythm of the song rather than the lyrical content. American man again the verses are very well written but the chorus is really boring. Overall there are some really stand out moments, the bridge in she's mine springs to mind, but it's not his best work but enough there to keep you thinking.
The problem this album has, and any sophmore album, is generally the debut album sets the bar. Contraband was a great album hard rocking, deep with some really beautiful melodic moments. Libertad at times you feel is up there songs like let it roll, she builds quick machines, just 16, spay and for a brother, deliver ...
