Advantages: beautiful scenary, black sand, Aegean sea, Vulcano, rich history
Disadvantages: bus connections

...makes the whole beach look really beautiful. Warning though, the waves can be annoying for those who don't like it and the water is very dirty!!! If you want un umbrella and a chair, you have to pay for it, but what you'll get is another story. - Oia: Many claim that in Oia there is the most beautiful sunset in the world. I can't guarantee for that since it wasn't visable the day I was there. The place was really nice. Very touristic, you have to be quick catching a bus there. - Thira: It's almost impossible not to go there. It is the center of Santorini. Many restaurants, giftshops, the view is very nice. ...If you are on holiday on the island of Santorini it is likely that you will be tempted to vist the town of Ia which is famous especially for it's sunsets. Picturesque white and blue houses are built into the rock that overlooks the Caldera; this is an expanse of water formed in the past by the island volcanic activity. Cruise ships sail into the Caldera to view the attractive town,and the colured rock formations (cliffs) that have been created by the erruptions of the volcano and also to allow their passengers to vist the town. Restaurants, hotels, houses and hoilday properties are situated (perched on the cliff face) to take advantage of the view of the sunset over the Caldera. Ia seems an exspensive place to stay for a holiday on Santorini but it is worth while taking a day trip there; it is a very photogenic place to visit. You... Read review

...Before visiting Honfleur, Normandy, for the day I looked at the Ciao France website to see if there were any reviews of restaurants in the town. All I found, however, was a piece of advice that recommended avoiding the restaurants on the waterfront, which it described as 'tourist traps', and seeking out a restaurant in one of the side streets. My 'Rough Guide to France' was too heavy to take along, so I copied out the names and addresses of one or two restaurants that it listed. Unsurprisingly for a fishing port, they all seemed to specialise in seafood. We spent about an hour and a half wandering around Honfleur and were amazed at the number of restaurants there are; you are certainly spoilt for choice, and if a bucket of mussels floats your boat you are in for a treat.
