Imagine a small winding road surrounded all the way long by old fir trees leading all of a sudden to a vast mountain covered with snow ( only between november and april ... ...La Mongie, which is now linked with another small resort is the widest resort in the Pyrenees ( Which is in the South West of France. This is the natural cross with Spain.) There are a lots of different tracks for everybody. And if you don't know how to ski or snowboard, the instructors are very nice and patient. Most of them come from the region and teach here part time. i even recomend one of my friend, F. Theaux who can learn you how to ski and ... more

If you don' t know where to go riding this next winter, or if you just want to spend a nice time in a not to polluted area, go to La Mongie.This resort got all the advantages you could imagine, apart for one thing, the risk of finding a resort poor in snow. Get informed about the snow situation and the weather if you plan to go there. But don't worry, it doesn' happen so often. Imagine a small winding road surrounded all the way long by old fir trees leading all of a sudden to a vast mountain covered with snow ( only between november and april ) . And at the end of the day, if you need some rest, you can go to the thermes and have a bath or a massage. The choice of hotel is quite wide too. You can easily find an hotel in the resort itself, or in the little thermal town called Bagneres de Bigore. For the food, don't worry. You know that us, french people, like above everything else good food and good wine. There are also a lots of restaurants serving traditional french food.(Don't worry, you can also find a burger and a pinte) . So don't wait another minute book a flight, put your boots on and wait for next winter.

P.S: Did you know that 'Le Tour de France' , the famous cycling race goes through La Mongie. You can ride where Indurain was cycling a few summers ago.
