Forges-les Eaux is a small town North of Rouen just off the Autoroute north to the channel ports. It is an ideal stop-off and is also a good base fro exploring the Bay of the Somme.

The hotel is part of the Logis de France chain and is situated just off the main square. There is a short driveway through to a large car park. At night this is locked and is accessible by using a key-code( thoughtfully written on the room-key).

reception is bright and airy and pleasantly modern-looking. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly. We hadn't booked ahead.
A small modern lift operates to the first floor so the hotel is suitable for more elderly clients. Rooms were basic but beautifully clean. There was a pleasant outlook from both sides of the hotel.

The hotel restaurant offered a large range of menus and we enjoyed a 3 course local menu, good value at under 20 euros. Try the Trou Normand- apple sorbet and Calvados, supposed to enhance the appetite.

Braeakfast was served buffet-style and was best described as enhanced continental, yoghurts and fruit in addition to rolls and coffee.
