    Advantages Advantages Bruschetta was nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor service, pizzas soggy

If you fancy a nice pizza whilst out in Edinburgh I am sad to say La Piazza was a great disappointment. With a nice position on the road out of Edinburgh going towards the west of the city and out towards Glasgow or the Forth Road Bridge I stopped there for a pizza with a friend. On first entering the décor is nouveau Italiano with pictures representative of the Sistine Chapel frescos and the Piazza Navona in Rome. Whilst the front of the restaurant was empty the back was alive and busy and was vibrant. First impressions good. Beer at £2.50 a pint was good, bottles of Beck’s or Bud will ... more

I m basing my review of La Piazza on my experience a few months ago. For those of you who are not too familiar with Edinburgh, this restaurant is in Shandwick Place,West end. It is ideally situated near many offices and the Financial district of Edinburgh. There are many Italian restaurants in Edinburgh-especially in the City Centre. I went here with a friend as she works nearby to it and was recommended it by colleagues. I had previously been to the restaurant about 5 years ago for a friend's birthday night outbut of course things have changed. The interior is a lot better and it hads been ... more

5 Stars Quick review of La Piazza, Edinburgh by Piarosco 20/06/2008
We went to La Piazza on the recommendation of a friend and found it to be one of the nicest Italians in Edinburgh. The service was friendly without being false and efficient without being rushed. The food was delicious (particularly the ravioli tartufo!) and hearty enough to keep our bellies full for the rest of the day. Our table had a pizza, two pasta dishes and a swordfish steak, all of which we would have again. Inside, the restaurant is elegant without being pretentious and around the back there is a lovely decked area where you can sit in the sun ... more

This is a fantastic restaurant with a nice professional feel and a huge choice of dishes ranging from pasta to lamb. I have been a customer here for several years and i will be dining here for a long time to come. This place has everything fine tuned.

Advantages Advantages Great food, great service and pleasant surroundings

Disadvantages Disadvantages My waistline cant afford for me to eat here every day

La Piazza is by far and away my favourite Italian in Edinburgh. The decor is simple but classy and just oozes Italian as soon as you walk in. You can tell the staff know what they are doing straight away as they are all comfortable with every aspect of service from the menu to the amount of time given to you to enjoy your meal. The food doesn't rely on gimicks to sell itself and offers a choice of pasta, pizza, risotto, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes to suit all. You are allowed the time and space to enjoy your meal and by the end you are left feeling happy and content at an evening well ... more
