I copy young clapton106 to get across the point that two years ago La Porchetta was regarded as one of the best Italian restaurants, or rather Pizzerias, in London. It remains the case today. It's easy enough to find. You'll be wanting Finsbury Park tube station (zone 2). Come out of FP's front entrance, turn left and you'll end up on Stroud Green Road. It's about 5-10 minutes walk - over the crossroads that has no pedestrian signals (but plenty of 'GREEN MAN FOR SGR!' signs), past Tesco's, and it's down there on the left about 30 seconds from my flat, not that that bit'll ...

La Porchetta is a fantastic real Italian restaurant. It has several local branches, the first and the best being located on Stroud Green Road, N4.
The atmosphere is noisy and loud and fun. Staff work hard at making veryone welcome particularly families and groups of friends. Children love the party atmosphere and birthday boys and girls delight in having a raw pizza base hat and a loud banging of pans.
Pizzas are delicous with perfect bases, Just ... ...are variable and the staff are always willing to make substitutions.
Unusaully for a restaurant the house wine is very quaffable and comes in two different sized caraffes.
The bill is usually very reasonable, actually cheap if you stick to house wine not beer.
The only down point is that of the garlic bread which is the tomato topped variety. ...
