all modern comforts. The main floor rooms have recently been refurbished in 18th century style, while the 1920s have been the inspiration for the rooms in the floors above. But what could be a better arrival point than the hotel\'s meeting rooms or its famous restaurant with outdoor service providing a vast choice of Umbrian and Italian wines. La Rosetta started over 83 years ago, in March 1922, when Egisto Paradisi invested all his savings to open a small restaurant. Paradisi was destined to become on of the fathers of the concept of tourism in Umbria, and La Rosetta is now a top hotel with over 90 rooms. A self-made man in every sense, Paradisi began his career as a lift boy in what was at the time the only prestigious hotel in Perugia. When he returned from fighting in the Cacciatori delle Alpi brigade during the First World War, Paradisi and his wife Lisetta decided to open up their own small business made up of seven rooms to rent and a small restaurant. The name \"Rosetta\" was chosen on account of Lisetta\'s passion for roses. The seventy years that have elapsed since are seventy years of Italian and Umbrian history, culture and life. More famous people have stayed at La Rosetta than coul fill an encyclopedia. Here are but a few: Primo Carnera, Trilussa, Brilli Peri, Nuvolari (during the Mille Miglia race through Perugia), Emma Grammatica, Vanda Osiris, Edoardo and Peppino de Filippo, Carlo Dapporto, Paolo Stoppa, Ezra Pound, the presidents Gronchi, Segni and many others. Today La Rosetta stands out as a structure that has been able to change with the times whilst maintaining intact the tradition of hospitality and efficiency so dear to its founder. Over the years, in fact, La Rosetta has consistently opted for contemporary solutions to cater for the needs of an ever-changing and increasingly demanding clientele.
masterpiece 'Rosetta' is an extraordinary portrait of a resourceful teenage girl struggling to find her way in a tough world. Both compelling and moving the film stars newcomer Emilie Dequenne whose outstanding realization of the title role earned her a Best Actress award at Cannes. Crafted with skill and energy by writer/director brothers Luc & Jean-Pierre Dardenne who adopt a virtuoso visual style that perfectly matches Dequenne's urgent performance 'Rosetta' is an affecting and powerful drama of passionate intensity. Also featured on this DVD is the Dardenne brothers film LA PROMESSE (1 hour and 30 minutes): Made three years earlier "La Promesse" is the story of 15 year old Igor who helps his small time crook father run a scam illegally employing immigrants on building sites. But when one of the workers is fatally injured Igor promises to look after the man's wife and child - a promise that changes Igor's life forever...
Advantages: Washing machine Disadvantages: There are 2 things to do - one is to eat, the other swim!
...*** Club La Costa in Fuengirola, Spain ***
By the way - weather was fantastic and in the 30's.
We had a fantastic holiday of lazing around by the pool and took a day trip to Gibraltar.
I'm not going into the food side of things too much but for two course meal for five it was around 50 euros including a drink each. This was same in all restaurants we visited on site.

...You've come to the wrong place for a punch-by-punch analysis of Ali vs. Foreman, but La Rambla is just as, if not more, entertaining!
The central promenade of Barcelona, a mile in length, stretches from Plaça Catalunya to the port. The magnificent street is chiefly the domain of pedestrians, as the two lanes of crawling traffic and frustrated drivers amply show. A relaxed stroll down the tree-lined walkway is an essential part of any visit to the Catalan city. Locals enjoy regular evening constitutionals here on warm nights; during the tourist seasons, you'll be in the company of thousands of fellow visitors.
La Rambla's central location means that accommodation in the area is incredibly convenient but not cheap. Hotels like the "Rivoli Ramblas" on La Rambla itself are naturally costlier (and noisier!) than those hidden away...

Advantages: Great location in a safe area of Old Havana, Great food & music Disadvantages: noise from the bar and restaurant downstairs
...El Meson de la Flota: Mercaderes b/ Amargura and Teniente Rey. Old Havana, Ciudad de La Habana, situated a few steps from the Old Square.
La Meson de la Flota is found in a safe and renovated area of Old Havana. It is in fact more like a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel per se, but has the advantage of excellent food at reasonable prices (for tourist eating places - £10 for a lobster brochette, rice and salad - very filling and delicious) and live music every night with Cubano-Flamenco concerts. The drinks, especially Mojitos were great too and won't break the bank (£3-£4 each).
The rooms have very high ceilings and are clean and newly painted, although the state of the bathroom lets the place down a bit, with a bit more wear and tear than I would expect in a hotel. However there was a fridge in the room which...
