Advantages Nice location. Handy for bars and restaurants as well as shops, supermarket. Quiet. area.

Disadvantages As described above.

This was our 2nd stay in Fuerteventura and the first [and last] at this hotel.

Upon arrival the greeting was reasonably warm and brief, if yet efficient and we were quickly told where our apartment was.

We were in for 2 weeks [sorry if it sounds like a prison sentence!] as All Inclusive and were allocated a ground floor accommodation in a nice quiet corner of the complex and not far from the pool.

The apartment was in need of refurbishment. Plug sockets loose and hanging off the wall, grouting in bad shape in the bathroom and kitchenette area was grubby.
The kitchenette had a couple of electric stove rings and pans if you wanted to cook anything yourself but no oven, kettle or microwave. If you wanted a kettle it would cost 6 Euros to hire, 20 Euros for a microwave, 10 Euros for an iron and another 10 for the ironing board all plus deposits for these.

After 3 days we really did not wish to eat anything else from the restaurant . The food was quite sparse at times and was usually just lukewarm. Its quality and choice were poor .eg awfully cheap looking and tasting beefburgers with a wafer thin cheese slice on top as one of the breakfast options. Bacon occasionally available but approximately 70% fat. Vegetables were overcooked and for sweet you sometimes found little tubs of ice cream ,fresh [?] fruit [always] that was poor in quality such as the dried out mandarin oranges we tried or , more regularly, you could find tinned pears and pineapples available.

I think it was the smell of "school dinners" as we approached the restaurant that really put us off. The good thing about the restaurant is that one could help oneself to the beer [Amstel] wine and soft drinks without having to wait for a staff member in the bar around the corner.

The restaurant was dingy in its lighting and even more dingy in the conservatory area at the side ...all in need of a good sprucing up.

So that left us with the options of going out to eat or stay in and making something of your own.

We chose to eat out every mealtime after the 3rd day. We had read the reviews and it is true that you get what you pay for in this case. If you go here then unless you can enjoy or put up with the food then do make sure you budget for outside eating. If you cook inside your apartment you will need extra cash for rental costs and deposits anyway as well as your shopping.

We found it cheaper, anyway, to eat out than to buy food in the Hyper Dino supermarkets.
There are some great meal deals out there and some superb restaurants all within easy reach. We recommend the "Old Sports Bar opposite the Castillo Centre for great value and equally good food. Saved us a packet and as we like our sport we were in clover!

Caleta is a nice sized resort;. Everything within easy reach and we have never ever seen any trouble or yobbish behaviour, although might not really be for young couples who want something a bit livelier or for children [teens age most probably] .

Fuerteventura is a super place to visit . We found the locals...

I agree - it depends on your expectations at the end of the day - its adequate, we found it to be clean in our apartment though accept that others have had less fortunate experiences. We have stayed in a worse hotel (La Pyramide) but also stayed in much better - its a great base, eat out every other day, drink plenty and just soak up the sun and its good value for money. Consider hiring a car or using the local bus service to explore the island - to the south there are fabulous beaches for instance. I'd only recommend it as a dead cheap sun option if you can afford to supplement it by going out a bit
