Advantages: Great beach location, facilities and staff that will become your friends! Disadvantages: Very quiet, nothing for children
Visiting Bali for the 1st time, as a family for Christmas, LaTaverna was booked 'blind' from the internet but what a find.
Right on Sanur's golden beaches the complex is a mixture of bungalow units and some larger 2 floor suites. All rooms were perfectly clean, made up daily with well stocked mini-bar, linen and much needed Air-con.
The on site restaurant was one of the best and most reasonably priced in the whole of Sanur, by the 2nd day we new the staff by name and the service was informal but excellent, like the food. The choice of food was good and meals could be taken in the main restaurant or on the beach for lunch and dinner with entertainment provided on selected nights.

mosaics, and general debris from Roman Verona, in the grounds of this museum, there is a large area with fantastic views over the whole of Verona.
Castlevecchio
Is a great museum, (Museo Civico) containing a lot of religious artefacts, the best feature about this museum, is being able to go inside the 14th Centaury castle, a fantastic structure, which was severely damaged during WW2, and has subsequently been rebuilt. The castle itself is located on a bend in the river, guarding a fantastic bridge called Ponte Scarligero (pedestrian & cycle only)
The Centro Internazionale di Fotografia SCAVI SCALIGERI diVerona is underneath the Palazzo Della Ragione and shows excavations from various ages in the history of Verona. This museum also contains a photographic gallery, when I visited, the space was full of photos of the industrial heritage ...

Advantages: A beautiful city with lots to offer Disadvantages: Italy itself can be a little expensive
During my recent holiday to Italy Verona was one of the cities that I visited. Verona is a city in Northern Italy not far from Lake Garda. Due to its geographical position the city has frequently flooded in the past and as you travel round the city this can be noted by water markings on bridges and walls. Verona was also the town that Julius Caesar visited for his relaxing stays and features strongly in the travel diaries of Goethe. Furthermore Verona is also the town were Dante wrote the second part of his 'Divine Comedy'. Despite all of this however Verona is probably most famous for being the setting for William Shakespeare's most famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.

Though opened only a few years ago by the Vantini brothers and their two friends, this taverna already feels as though it's been a popular neighborhood osteria for decades. There are faux medieval "fresco fragments" on the walls and small wooden tables packed in to seat the locals (the whole fire squad stopped in one time I visited) who come for huge portions of Veronese cuisine. To go with their 180 labels in the wine cellar, try gnocchi con pastise de' caval (gnocchi pasta dumplings in the very Veronese horse ragł), bigoli al torchio with shredded duck, coniglio alla veronese con pesto (rabbit served in a crushed-basil-and-garlic pesto), or pastise de' caval con polenta (horse goulash with polenta). The owners will soon be installing an outdoor dining terrace.
