Myself and my partner recently went to Laganas in Zante, I have to say this is the best holiday I have ever been on, its a fantastic island with very friendly people.
The holiday cost us about £400 for a B&Bhotel for seven days (Direct Holidays) I think this was a absolute bargain.
The town of Laganas is the main resort on the island, Its where all the youngsters head due to the crazy amount of bars & clubs, having said this during the day all the youngsters are still in bed so the town is nice and quite so you can have a relaxing day at the beach.
The beach is long and narrow with some water sport offered (this is restricted to certain areas due to the protected turtles which Zante is famous for). It is also lined with bars and cafes who all have there own sun chairs on the beach, you pick a cafe you like the look of, pay the small fee & they give you a menu with a bell on which you ring whenever you want food or beer, then then serve you at you sun bed so you dont even have to get up (I thought this was a great idea).
There are plaenty of trips to go on so you can explore this island a bit better, we went on a boat trip to see the turtles, it was was a all day trip that took you pretty much all the way around the island, they took us up close to the turtles then we headed round the bay & stoped off at a village for lunch. On the way back we stopped at a couple of rock formations (which you can see from the beach) & they let you have a swim around for a hour or so.
One of the other boat trips you can go on is to a ship wreck which is at the top end of the island, we wanted to go on this but it was not running when we where there. This looks like lovely trip, they take you to a nice white sandy beach where a old ship has been washed up & you get to stay there sunbathing all day.
All in all I will def be going back to this island as I enjoyed it so much, its a nice relaxing resort during the day with plenty to do in the evening, what more could you want.
