This photo was taken just after dawn, and later in the day the water is a deep red. I liked the reflection of the mountain and the flamingoes. Photography by Andrew Gibson.

Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: Lack of WC's
...I have visited Playa Colorada many times - and it is my favourite beach in Eastern Venezuela. Palm trees are down to the water edge, golden sand, and sparkling warm water makes this a palce to be.. and be.. and be. Surrounded by small islands this beach is very calm and it is the safest I have visited...
Make sure and stay for to view the sunset - it is terrific. Also why not wait and go for a dip after dark. It is creepy but rather fun.
Good facilities (for Venezuela) and water sports are also available..
Are you still there ???...

Bad experience Review ofTropical Casa Laguna Beach Resort, Cabareteby

Advantages: small hotel, quiet, nice setting Disadvantages: bad food, average entertainment
...I personally WOULD NOT ever visit that hotel again because although it is a quiet, welcoming hotel it does have its downfalls. Starting at the beginning, we were placed it a room that was not up to standard - I realise its 3star but did not expect to find my room in the state that it was. It was at the back the hotel with the worst view, a grubby little room which they expected four people to stay in. After complaining we were put up in two seperate rooms - much bigger, clean and nicely furnished with a working tv and shower!! Food was also an issue - as all-inclusive we had breakfast lunch and dinner. Food was usually cold and tasteless with not much choice anyway. I didn't go on holiday to eat chips or rice every night. I was also ill after eating chicken one night. So yep, would never visit the tropical casa laguna - my experience...

Advantages: Pool area very fun, supermarket Disadvantages: Basic accommodation, hilly terrain
...I stayed in Laguna Park II in the summer of 2005 for a fortnight with my father when I was 17. We booked the holiday last minute as we always did, so we got a reasonable price and didn't expect too much.
We arrived at Laguna Park in the middle of the night, and apart from the loop that the coach driver had to take, didn't really notice much about the location of the hotel. When you enter the hotel, there is a reception which you walk through - the staff were perfectly polite. There was a supermarket next to the reception for conveniece, it was good value for money.
When you go through the reception you have to walk down a hill to the row with your apartment, therefore whenever you leave you then have to scale the hill within the hotel. You get used to it, but I wouldn't suggest this for anyone with walking difficulties or a distaste...
