Chapel Farm
Advantages: a nice break Disadvantages: British weather
...After looking I came across Chapel Farm Caravan Park in Little Asby. The Hoseasons site had a caravan available for 3 nights at a cost of £165, fairly cheap for the time we were going, there were some swings showing in one of the pictures so we decided to go for it, but first I checked if they had their own website which they did and it also said it had a games room, tennis courts, pool table and laundrette. I contacted the site directly by e mail ... ...we wanted and asked how much it would cost, I received an e mail back saying £35 per night meaning £105 for the 3 nights - a saving of £60. I asked them how far the nearest pub with food was and the nearest restaurant. The pub was 3 miles away and the nearest restaurant 8 miles. So we knew we were out in the middle of nowhere and had to take food wiht us.
I don't know if it was the same caravan that we would have got through Hoseasons but the next ...

A Fishy Day Out In The Lake District.
Advantages: Interesting and interactive displays, fab outdoor facilities, good ticket prices Disadvantages: Can get a bit squished. Won't be able to spend the whole day here
...has become increasingly difficult! The Lake District Coast Aquarium has become a favourite attraction, and one we have visited annually for the last 4 years. Situated on the West Cumbrian Coast, the Solway Estuary and with the Lake district just a stones throw away, Maryport is home to the Lake District Coast Aquarium. The aquarium, now 12 years old, houses a wide and varied exhibition of river and marine life from the local area and is easily accessible ... ...There is pay parking right outside, and a large car park 2 minutes walk away. Opening Times And Prices The aquarium is open daily from 10 am until 5pm and only closes Christmas and Boxing Day. Admission costs a very reasonable £5.75 for adults and £3.75 for children (under 4's free). Various Family ticket combinations are available providing an extra discount, and the aquarium also offers a family ticket concession which admits 1 adult and ...

The Best Way to See Windermere
Advantages: I enjoyed the traditional boat Disadvantages: I didn't really like the bigger boat
...about our destination. Windermere Lake Cruises have several different kinds of boats. On the way to Bowness we took one of the Traditional Launches. I absolutely loved this. I have done my share of travelling by boat, I love being on water so I always take the chance to take cruises if I can. The thing that made this cruise stand out was how old fashioned the boat was. It's there in the name, it's traditional and tradition for me is a big part of ... ...a really good experience with Windermere Lake Cruises. I didn't realise at the time that they had five different kinds of boats, if I had I would have wanted to try them all! As it is I can recommend the traditional launches, I had a very enjoyable, tranquil trip on one of them but I found the Swan and Teal to be less pleasant, although an efficient way to travel. Prices vary depending on how many trips you plan to take and where you are departing ...

Marymoose touches a zebra!
Advantages: Wide selection of animals, fun to be had! Disadvantages: Some animals didn't seem to have enough space, quite expensive
...animal fun and frolics).
Trotters World of Animals was a place I’d not been to before, although had wanted to visit for a while so after looking at the website (www.trottersworld.com) I made the executive decision that this was the place to go!
Where is it? Trotters World of Animals is located between Keswick and Cockermouth, near to Bassenthwaite. There are signs for where to turn off the main road (the A591). When you’ve turned off take ... ...find just two meerkats at Trotters World of Animals (and one of them with hormonal problems leading to it ‘loosing’ its hair – I think they meant ‘losing’- never fails to amaze me what idiots they get to write the signs in these places!) I had thought that meerkats were supposed to be living in a pack rather than groups of two. The meerkats did however seem happy eating some sort of dead bird in a cage.
Reptile House – Next up was the reptile ...

Marymoose and friends get Puzzled!
Advantages: Anti Gravity room, Little/big room, value for money Disadvantages: Expensive shop, some exhibits a bit tired looking
... Intro
I love the August Bank Holiday weekend - hubby goes off diving with another woman and my friends come up to stay (the legendary G, K, S & R) to keep me company and a weekend of fun, frolics and lots of booze commences – highlights including the rewriting of “Who Killed Cock Robin” and keeping our poor neighbours awake with midnight renditions of “Babooshka” and “No Limit” on Singstar.
Where is it?
Anyway, whilst out and about ... ...which is located just off the high street (there are signposts if you’re struggling to find it) in Museum Square – amazing (well, puzzling…) that loads of people I’ve spoken to don’t know it exists. Having been with the in-laws several years back (the same day that my mother-in-law bought me a dog toy to play with – admittedly it was a moose, but a dog toy nonetheless), and with a friend a while earlier this year when we had some time to kill, I ...
