Lakeside setting makes for special experience
Advantages: Marvellous location Disadvantages: The road surrounding the Lake which at peak times is rather noisy
...country house hotel Armathwaite Hall. Until recently a family home, the Hall is an imposing stone building straight out of an Agatha Christie drama. To step inside is to step back into the past. But, despite appearances, the hotel has been brought into line with modern tastes and all the bedrooms have been refurbished in retro style with the latest en suite facilities, furniture and fittings of the highest standard, and beds of top-class comfort.
... ...views over the lake and trees. And feel, for a day or two, like a millionaire. Armathwaite Hall would be a great place for a romantic break, family celebration, or any excuse really to get away from it all and sample the aristocratic life. ...

Our New Holiday Home
Advantages: Cosy, friendly, welcoming. Disadvantages: None
...bought a holiday lodge at Gatebeck holiday park on the outskirts of Kendal. It is in the perfect location to appreciate all of the surrounding natural beauty, as well as being close to shopping centres and markets while still enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside. After viewing the complex and lodges, we decided to buy a lodge at this complex, as it was such a lovely place with so much surrounding nature. Along with my partner's ... ...I believe that Gatebeck only has owned lodges but many of these do seem to be rented out to holiday makers during the summer. There is plenty to do while at Gatebeck including South Lakes Wild Animal Park, The Aquarium of the Lakes, The World of Beatrix Potter, Lakeland Miniature Village, Ruskin Museum, Grizedale Park, Homescales Activity Centre, Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, Windermere Lake Cruises, plenty of walks, world-class bird watching, ...

An amazing holiday experience!
Advantages: see review Disadvantages: see review
I haven't been to Center Parcs in years and i'd only been to the Sherwood Forest one but this summer my family and I decided to give this one a go. it's set in the north of the lake district so as you can imagine it is a beautiful setting. The accommodation isn't exactly five star luxury but that is not what you expect from this holiday. This is a fast-paced, action packed holiday. The accommodation is fairly basic, the'villas' don't look appealing ... ...and have everything you need. You can pay extra to have the few luxuries such as the towels to be included and have a tv in the bedroom as well as lounge. The outside area of the villa has a little BBQ area and table and chairs which is a nice feature as well as your little bike rack for all your bikes.
The activities you can vary immensly and you can book online before you even arrive so to be sure to g et your things booked!
The activities include:

This Holiday Is What You Make it...
Advantages: Quiet, Clean, Relaxing,Fun, Good Range of Facilities, Disadvantages: Activities Expensive, Pool Noisey at Peak Times
CENTER PARCS
I had heard lots of things about Center Parcs and mostly it was everyone saying "its really expensive and you have to pay for everything"... so was always put off by it. So never really thought about it. I use lots of discount codes so when I found a great discount code for Center Parcs I thought I would have a look. So I looked up their website which is easy enough to navigate through and found a location, date and then price ... ...decided to go from Monday to Friday...( just in case it was horrible ..) We booked for first week in the October Holidays. It was brilliant. There a plenty sign posts easy to locate. We arrived at 3pm so had to wait about 15mins to get in. But you are surrounded by trees and squirrels that it wasn't stressful. The booking in is done online before you go so when you drive through what looks like a car wash... they greet you with your name and had ...

Lakeland Home from Home
Advantages: A holiday whenever you want one Disadvantages: Costly running fees
SOUTH LAKELAND PARKS
We have owned our static caravan now for five years. As we are retired we spend most of the year in the caravan on our Holiday Home Park at Glasson Dock near to the city of Lancaster.
Our park is part of South Lakeland Parks, which has been in existence since 1988. For anybody who is considering purchasing their own holiday home or simply taking a holiday at one of the parks I thought that I would share my experiences ... ...park but the staff at South Lakelands Parks are always very helpful and let you know the exact details. On our park we pay around £2,300 per year for site fees, £230 for local rates - the gas and electric naturally depends on usage, insurance is around £350 per year. SUBLETTING
If you purchase a holiday home with the intention of subletting it to make money you have to realise that South Lakeland Parks only operate this scheme at the following ...
