Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée -dine in style but bedrooms plain.

Advantages: Beautiful dining room
Disadvantages: Bedrooms adequate but not elegant.

We stayed at the Hôtel Restaurant La Flambée in Bergerac in November 2008 for two nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner. What follows is an honest account as possible about the hotel as I can provide. Hopefully this may help if you are planning to visit this part of the world. We flew to Bordeaux but the most convenient airport for the hotel is actually in Bergerac as the hotel lies about 2 miles outside the town. Incase you are not familiar with this part of the world these places are in the main wine growing areas, and are in South West France. Flying time from the UK is about an hour and a half if you are flying from the London areas. Easyjet will take you to Bordeaux from Luton, likewise British Airways will fly you from Gatwick, and Ryanair will fly you from Stansted to Bergerac. This area is great as it is possible to use as ...

The Lovely Lake vyrnwy Hotel

Advantages: Beautiful location
Disadvantages: Quite expensive!

For all of you that have been to Lake Vyrnwy you will know what I mean when I say what a wonderful, peaceful, magical place it is, and for those of you that have not been , , , I can only say you are missing out! The Lake vyrnwy Hotel is situated in the heart of Mid Wales near the shropshire border of a town named oswetsry. High up on the rocks it sits over looking the lake and tower. It has some spectacular rooms including facilities to host a wedding with it's very own bridal suit. It has a lovely restaurant that over looks the lake and is beautiful to sit in on a summers night, the food in the restaurant is outstanding with friendly local staff waiting on( well worth a visit). There is also a tavern which does standard bar meals and also has a dining area overlooking the lake which again on a summer night is spectacular ...

Isles of Glencoe Hotel, Ballachulish

Advantages: Beautiful scenery and lots to do
Disadvantages: Expensive

I visited the Isles of Glencoe Hotel in April 2008 with my partner. It was a last minute decision to book a long weekend away to Scotland, and it was by far the best choice we could have made. The views on the drive up to the hotel from Glasgow airport were amazing, and once at the hotel, the scenery was absolutely breath taking. It couldn't have been situated in nicer surroundings. There was plenty to do surrounding the hotel, whether it be outside activities or things to do indoors. The facilities within the hotel grounds were also ample, having a swimming pool and sauna provided, as well as outdoor activities on the the loch. There were also many walks and climbs just outside the main entrance. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, however the service could be quite solw. This was not ...
