Lake Tahoe Ski resort is one of the top resorts in USA. With plenty of terrain for beginners and advanced skiers alike and a friendly staff. Lake Tahoe Mountain is one of the American’s pride and joy.

I visited Lake Tahoe this winter, January. I was expecting the top notch ski resort it is advertised to be. It cost me £2000 for me and my partner for the visit! This included the $52 lift ticket!

Some of the disagreements I came to with the other reviews of Lake Tahoe Mountain Are:

SNOW, snow was definitely a needed area of improvement for Lake Tahoe but I guess you can’t blame anyone for the weather. With barely any snow to begin with, mainly to lack of snow fall problems this year, to full blown ice mountain in the afternoon.

PRICE, holy cow, this was probably the most expensive trip I have ever taken with the exception of Zermatt . Everything included tickets, and souvenirs seemed to cost twice what they should, for example a sweater, would be $60 just because it said "Lake Tahoe".

TERRAIN, although there was huge range of it at Tahoe and other near by resorts, there were few runs of real challenge to experienced skiers, but is fine for beginner or intermediate skiers.

MY RECOMMENDATION

I recommend that you do visit Lake Tahoe because of it’s beautiful scenery. If you don't mind the money but would like a great ski resort head to Copper Mountain. If you would like great skiing at a decent price and don't mind travelling, check out Way up north to interior BC, with such resorts as Silverstar and Fernie. And if you really did enjoy Lake Tahoe, and were lucky enough to catch a good year, stick with it! I'll see you all up at Fernie where the powder is!
