You know how sometimes you go to one of those big fancy hotels for a special occasion and you are impressed just because of the price and reputation......well this is one of them....well except it isn't.
See my work has sent me all over the country over the last few years and I've been fortunate enough to have been placed in some really posh hotels, but none of them - no matter how high the price - even came close to the fantastic experience we had in this hotel.
See some hotels you go to have food is supposed to be fancy just because there is hardly any on your plate and theres half a tree sticking out it. Other hotels have snooty staff and snooty customers sneering at the fact that you have ordered a beer and some have staff that are just so unbelievable insincere that it leaves you completely cold.

Then to the room. A beautifully laid out abode. A massive Queen Size bed - trust me I'm big and this was enough for three of me - a hi-fi, a Playstation, all of the Sky channels, Oh and a superb power shower, great for turning the missus on with stray jets that appear to come from nowhere on the wall :-)
The veiw is a bit dodgy. An old concrete car park made the scenery pretty dull, but still I could easily check on the security of my car, and lets face it there aren't too many pretty features in my manky home town.
Down to the bar - they call it the Oshi. An urban retreat. Where a waterfall trickles through the centre of the room and a huge fire burns. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing.
The missus heads off for a massage in their spa and comes back raving about how her sore back is sorted - some kind of miracle cure there - although the lady that did it pissed me off a bit, by telling the missus she needed this every 6 weeks - AT THAT COST ! Well Ok £25 for an hour isn't that much but its for the wife and I'd rather be spending money on ME !
Then to the more lively bar and on out into the Glasgow nightlife.
Yeah and even a superb Scottish Breakfast in the morning with the delightful exhibition of a rather over pompus American tourist falling over a light on the floor just to set it off.
Final word on the staff. I have never had the pleasure of coming across such a sensere and genuine hotel staff in my life. Of course they were friendly - its Glasgow what else would you expect - but to have so much eagerness too - well as the wife says "it must be because the place is new"
