Advantages: small and friendly Disadvantages: limited food menu
...Laffertys is situated on South Street in the historic Scottish town of St Andrews. The pub is quite small, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. A small selection of food is offered, ranging from soup and sandwiches, to a variety of pizzas. A general Irish theme runs through the establishment, and there are many instances of Guinness and Kilkenny's memorabilia. Drinks are reasonable for St Andrews, which means that you can expect to pay about two pounds for a pint. The staff are friendly and always ready to engage customers in conversation. The jukebox contains a good mixture of music, providing something for almost any taste. A variety of sports are shown on two TVs, but this rarely dominates the pub as most hardcore sports fans choose to visit other pubs in town with big screen sports coverage....

...Breath taking, those were the very words i used when i first stepped into Irleland. The place has a magical presence to it. After driving through the beautiful southern part of Irleland i made my way to Kilkenny where my grandfather lived on a small farm he had built. The people around me hwre saying hello and how are you like they were my family. A trip to the local town of Killkenny proved to be outstanding. Sipping fine ales and eating strong food was a must. I picture Irleland as a small chunk of England but magnified. In England you can only drive so far then you are out of the country and into some overflowing city. So my week was basically strees free. Walking the hills and mountains, breathing fresh air and being at peace. I love Irleland and would go tommorrow. I would recommend this magical country to anyone....

Advantages: lively picturesque town with wide range of activities Disadvantages: expensive
.... After 1682 houses were built in the area of Mount Sion. In 1687 the shops were burned in a fire but the owner rebuilt them, this time with a colonnade in front of their entrances. All these roads lead to the top, modern half of the town, where the Royal Victoria Centre and the Precinct are situated.
The Royal Victoria Centre houses a number of well known stores which cater to a range of buyers. There are also a selection of friendly and warm coffee shops, such as Cafe Nero, Costa Coffee, Starbucks, Puccino's, and Bean.
Tunbridge Wells has a vast selection of restaurants. For those on a budget, I would reccommend Viva, Pizza Organic and ASK (all Italian.) The Hare in neighbouring Langton Green is a comfortable family pub, and there are some fabulous, although expensive restaurants in the centre of the town too.
As for the nightlife...
