My other half and I stayed here last year for a weekend away. We booked it over the phone and stayed for 2 nights at £110 for a double room with dinner.

The info arrived quickly in the post and we were impressed from the picures. We saw the hotel wasn't too far from the train station so decided to train & walk it (exercise - phew!).

Getting There
------------------
Unfortunately, the hotel is at the top of a long hill - about 1 mile from station - argh!!! The walk was quite nice through the shops in the centre and Bath is very nice, however that hill is a killer - on the way down you can't stop!!!

The hotel is on a bend in the road and stands tall and proud - looks very nice as you approach it. It has 45 rooms and 4 floors, with a dinning room, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and swimming pool.

The Room
---------------
The reception staff were nice enough and we got shown to our room. It was quite large with a nice double bed in the middle, a little room off to one side with a wardrobe and hairdryer/mirror and a bathroom with a large round tub - excellent! The decor was mediocre, needed repainting and wallpapering again. The room was very clean though - no surprises lurking!!

That night we went down to the restaurant. The food and service was excellent, with tables nicely spaced. The restaurant was lovely with fresh flowers on the table and nice and airy room. You could see outside down the hill to Bath which was nice too. The food tasted great and was served hot - I had risotto which was yum!!!

Unfortunately that night there was a wedding reception on - while the guests were away from the dining room, when we went to bed they were underneath us and MADE A RIGHT NOISE! grrrr, not nice at all.

Facilities
------------
On the 2nd day we tried out the jacuzzi but too much chlorine had been put in and we started choking!!! not fun!!!

So we diced to use the sauna - the temp inside reached 80 deg C - mega phew! was nice though. The swimming pool was also nice and quiet. about 10m long by 5 wide.

Families
------------
There wasn't much for kids to do and the only kids we saw were messing with a shoe shiner!!

Overall
----------

Nice hotel, probably too expensive though
