Advantages: Clean and adequate Disadvantages: Forgettable, in a business district, frequent power cuts
..., relaxed and friendly, reflecting the gregarious nature of this wonderful country.
So would I recommend the Posada del Inca San Isidro? For a traveller heading to San Isidro on business it would be a reasonable choice. For a tourist, I would recommend finding somewhere in Miraflores, where excellent shopping, world class restaurants, sea views and a recreational atmosphere could surround you.

Advantages: weather, people, cheap (once you're there) Disadvantages: usual of any big city
...the Airport. It was nighttime but still utterly chaotic, shops were open, people were everywhere and there were small little vans zipping around, which I thought were hippy vans, but my boyfriend explained that they were actually public buses!
I stayed in San Borja, which is a suburb on the outskirts of Lima. Even in this nice neighbourhood high walls surround the houses, usually with electric wiring around the top. Although it is less dangerous in Peru now then it was a few years ago when terrorists added to the threat. Now you only have to worry about thieves and the usual threats of a big city. The gap between the rich and the poor is very apparent in Lima, there are beautiful tourist spots such as Larco Mar, an outside mall with wonderful views onto the sea. Advantages: beautiful gardens free to visit, good location, very clean and polite staff Disadvantages: expensive internet
...four that is.
Anyway back to the hotel, it is named the grand view gardens because out the back is a huge garden which was infact used for a television show in china! It is free for those who stay in the hotel but if your not staying in there you have to pay. We spent a good couple of hours walking round it all. there is a huge man made lake in the middle with lots of trees and little chinese buildings and ornaments around. There is also a small animal 'zoo' which was quite nice. Peacocks, rabbits, guinea pigs, deers, goats, monkeys etc. It was quite sad though because all the animals were so hungry and the staff sell food to visitors so you can feed them - so we did - and most of it! it was gone in a few seconds. Definalty worth visiting the gardens as they area beautiful, and in the evening there are shows. We didnt stay in the evening...
