Advantages: the weather, the people, the area, virtually everything in fact Disadvantages: the beach sellers, the cockroaches, the long flight time from the UK, and a small earthquake.
Firstly my general rule of thumb about going on holiday is, when choosing a destination it must be somewhere I have not been before, but Acapulco is somewhere I would return to in a heartbeat.
It has to be one of the best holidays I have had in a long time.
Why? I hear you ask.
We booked about 6 weeks before we went so not exactly last minute, but not ages in advance and paid around £750 each for all inclusive 4 star hotel for two weeks. All the hotels are arranged around the bay along a long road called La Costera, and many are actually on the beach.
The hotel was fabulous, on the beach and the staff were great, you didnt even have to get out of your sunlounger to go to the bar, the waiters came down on to the beach and delivered your drinks to you dripping with ice. Well you need to keep cool in 47C heat.

Advantages: All Inclusive, Beach front Disadvantages: None that I found
Brisas Guardalavaca is well positioned - it has the ocean one side and spectacular mountain views the other. I have been to this hotel three times now and I've found it to be clean and tidy and have found no faults. We had a garden view the 1st time and were upgraded to sea view free as returning guests.
It's reasonably priced for a 2 week break and many tour operators have this hotel on their books.
The hotel has a villa section as well. It is on a beach front location and you can pretty much fall out of the hotel onto the beach. You have the option to use either the hotel or villa amenities unless it is high season and they will limit you to the area that you are staying in.
HOTEL: Four floors, rooms have either 2 small doubles or 1 extremely large bed, en suite bathroom, TV and balcony.
