Big,Brash, Bold bit getting tired.

Advantages: Iconic place to stay.
Disadvantages: Decor was tired and a bit shabby

We stayed at the Luxor twice recently. Our first impression after a transatlantic flight was WOW!!! It was huge! I have never seen a hotel on this scale before. It took us over an hour to check in, we were queing for aboslutely ages, and I have no idea why as we were the only ones from our flight staying there! It felt a bit like queing for a ride at Disney world! Our room was on the 21st floor and again it was huge, we were blown away but after ...
...either. The following morning we went to look at the pool and spa and casino. Again the sheer size of everything is amazing and we were gobsmacked. I think we walked about with our mouths open for ages! I sampled the spa and it was lovely, nothing special but for 60 dollars you cant complain. Review of Luxor, Las Vegas

A little bit of Venice in the middle of the desert.

Advantages: Safe and secure great facilities very luxurious suites extremely comfortable.
Disadvantages: Time share touts in all the hotels in Las Vegas.

The Venetian hotel is a 5 Star high quality hotel and like all the hotels in Las Vegas it is a spectacularly decorated and themed hotel based on Venice with a canal that goes from a lagoon on the outside right through the middle of the hotel and various squares restaurants and shopping malls inside. Nothing can prepare you for the brilliant and opulence of the hotel. Looking at pictures and its web site you are ill prepared for what you are about ...

It is a covered area and the porters and car directors are dressed in traditional black trousers, striped T-shirts and straw hats giving the impression that they are gondoliers. The area is quite busy and you need to have your wits about you as cars constantly drive in and drop off passengers and pick up passengers leaving the hotel. If only all Stations were like this one

Advantages: Manageable size, comfortable rooms, good service, excellent food and drink, value for money
Disadvantages: Location is about as far from the Strip as you can get , no entertainment

...the major attractions to the Luxor, I am right in suggesting that although people do use the casino, they don’t always go here, this is because there are so many other casinos in and around Vegas, the MGM and Bellagio has the better ones, but the Luxor one is also nicely done. With a large selection of card tables, slots located around the hotel, and a live sports room, were you can bet on horse racing, soccer, tennis and anything else. Overall ...
...was less about the gambling and casino aspect and more about the features, the food, the nightlife, the entertainment and the things to do, whereas other hotels namely the big two focus more on giving the casino wow factor.   A Superb Gamble in Vegas! The Paris Hotel!

Advantages: Something new to explore..you can be in Paris and Las Vegas at the same time!
Disadvantages: A bit pricy for some, you need more than two weeks to see everything!

One is the issue of surcharges on everything . . . be careful and always ask before doing anything.
