The MGM Grand is Grand Indeed!

Advantages: A fascinating place to visit and so much to see
Disadvantages: One can get worn out just trying to explore the whole hotel

I stayed at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for 3 nights and 4 days in August 2008 and can honestly say I had a great time. Please let me warn you that this is a fairly lengthy review of my experience. We got a taxi from the airport to the hotel which cost about $7 which worked out at less than £4 at the time. The first thing you notice about stepping out of the taxi and into the hotel is the fabulous air-conditioning. Vegas in August is VERY hot, well ...
...fabulously spacious lobby of the MGM and feel cooler straight away. On stepping inside the hotel (if you arrive by car) you are greeted by the large gold lion in the centre of the lobby in front of which it seems everyone who goes there for the first time rushes to have their photo taken in front of! As did I and my roommates! Once that first couple of minutes of excitement was over we went to queue at the check in desks of which there were about ...

Venice and Gambling all under one roof!

Advantages: Absolutely amazing quality
Disadvantages: Themed so it can put off certain customers

...trip was to gamble. The Venetian is right up there with the best of them. Prices are much the same as the rest of on strip Vegas, although the Venetian would probably be towards the dearer end of the scale. Like all hotels though, you can get deals at various times of the year and so the price fluctuates. The floor is massive, and at first I was getting lost all the time, All Vegas casino floors are jam packed with slots, which as a "European" gambler, ...
...The Venetian is great for roulette as it has a European wheel table and unlike other casinos, all the roulette tables are in one place so you can have a wander round and watch people gambling as well as going in yourself. For me, half the fun of Vegas is watching others gamble, and so being able to wander round all the tables which line all the main walkways was great fun for me. But roulette is my preference so Venetian wins hands down for this ...

Loved our stay at Treasure Island

Advantages: Not such a large hotel so easy to find your way round and out
Disadvantages: Truthfully none

I went here in November 2006 with my boyfriend for 10 days. We found the hotel perfectly placed for the hotels we wanted to visit, though a long walk down to the far end of Luxor, Mandalay Bay. But if you use the Deuce bus (5 dollars for 24hr pas) there is a bus stop right outside and a bus every 5-10 minutes. ROOM: We booked the cheapest room "a deluxe" room and it was the nicest the room I have ever stayed in. It had a very large and extremely ...
...A television, fair sized wardrobe space and drawers, iron and ironing board. There was also an in-room safe which was extremely handy as we could keep money etc locked away. The bathroom was all marble and had large bath with a shower over it and very good water pressure. Towels were changed often. RECEPTION: When we arrived (apprx 4pm) there was no queue for reception and we asked for a strip view room which we got for an extra 50 dollars for ...

An oasis in the middle of the desert.

Advantages: Their own beach level, casino level and shark reef aquarium, oh yeah and its gold!
Disadvantages: other people playing your favourite machine!

...and found our hotel The Mandalay Bay situated at the south end of the strip just off route 15 next to the Luxor. However if you are flying in directly to Las Vegas then the airport is just a stones throw away. My jaw hit the floor firstly your struck by its beauty, this creation is coated top to bottom in 24 carat gold glistening in the sunshine, nestled amongst lush greenery and their very own 11 acre beach resort with pools a plenty, lazy river ...
...you then why not hit Mandalay Spa where you can be pampered using all the latest techniques in massage and body treatments, all at extra cost though unfortuately! Then it was back to the room, swim shorts on and down to the pool, where we splashed around in the wave pool and gently bobbed around the lazy river. After seeing what our hotel had to offer we walked the Vegas strip entering the other hotels and some were also very nice but this The ...

Advantages: Iconic place to stay.
Disadvantages: Decor was tired and a bit shabby

We stayed at the Luxor twice recently. Our first impression after a transatlantic flight was WOW!!! It was huge! I have never seen a hotel on this scale before. It took us over an hour to check in, we were queing for aboslutely ages, and I have no idea why as we were the only ones from our flight staying there! It felt a bit like queing for a ride at Disney world! Our room was on the 21st floor and again it was huge, we were blown away but after ...
...either. The following morning we went to look at the pool and spa and casino. Again the sheer size of everything is amazing and we were gobsmacked. I think we walked about with our mouths open for ages! I sampled the spa and it was lovely, nothing special but for 60 dollars you cant complain. The pool areas were absolutely packed because they had roped of one of the pools for work. We had breakfast in the hotel which was very pricey but good. We ...
