Dining At The Top Of The World
Advantages: Amazing views, amazing food. Disadvantages: Can be price, be flexible about your dining times.
...longer and another meal at Top Of the World is planned already!
On our first visit, we were on a budget, due to our visit being our honeymoon and we had just had the expense of a wedding in 2006. This spring, we returned to Las Vegas and the one thing we wanted to experience on our visit this time was to have a meal at 'Top Of The World' restaurant at Stratosphere Hotel.
We didn't stay at Stratosphere, we stayed at the Luxor, which is at the opposite ... ...us $17 one way!
Top of the World restaurant is situated 133 floors up, towering 800ft above Las Vegas in the dome of the Stratosphere.
Stratosphere is easily viable from the air as you come into land at McCarran International Airport and indeed from many points on the strip.
BOOKING:
There are a few ways of booking your meal at Top of the World. Be advised, it is easier to get reservations for lunch than an evening meal, so you may wish to book ...

The Best Place in Vegas
Advantages: Music Dancing Food Unique Atmosphere Disadvantages: A lot of VIP Seating
The voodoo lounge is one of the best places to go in Las Vegas. There is a restaurant with a great menu for dinner, and then just a short elevator ride upstairs leads you to a dancing/bar scene full of energy. The crowd ranges in ages. They a dj both outside on the patio area and inside. The patios area is on the very top of the Rio Hotel and overlooks all of the bright lights of Vegas. The inside is dark with glow in the dark voodoo images written ...

on top of the world
Advantages: you can see the whole of vegas as you eat. Disadvantages: no good if you are afraid of heights!
...one night we visited the top of the world restaurant. This was the best dining experience of my life. Reservations for dinner are a must and there is a smart casual dress code, lunch times are more relaxed however and you could probably get away without either.
The Stratosphere is the highest free standing tower that side of the mississippi so your pretty high up! You take an elevator up through the tower 800 ft accompanied by an operator who chats ... ...from everyone else.
The top of the world restaurant has been awarded "Best Gourmet Room" by the Las Vegas review journal. Its menu boasts their singnature dish of Colorado rack of lamb. The menu however doesn't have any vegetarian options but they serve a wide range of meat and sea food dishes all of great quality at reasonable prices including:
Filet Mignon $42
Prime Rib $36
Colossal Shrimp and Sea Scallops $35
Ahi Tuna $39
Muscovy Duck $37

Dining on top of the world!
Advantages: Fine food and drink, stunning views Disadvantages: If you are afraid of heights don't come here! Not cheap.
...I would recommend visiting The Top of The World restaurant round about sunset, so that you can watch Las Vegas slowly turn from a relatively normal American cityscape to night when it comes alive.
If the prices above are too rich for your liking, the restaurant also does a lunch menu which is much cheaper. Yes, you get the same stunning views… but you don't see Vegas at night!
And if you are feeling up to it afterwards, you can go back down to ...
