I holidayed in Las Vegas recently. I stayed at the Riviera hotel which was the first hotel built on the strip. It is a lot cheaper than most of the newer bigger hotels on the strip, but is still a good, comfortable hotel. Whilst we were there we visited the Grand Canyon. We took a helicopter trip from Vegas, see www.helipcoptour.com, and landed at the foot of the canyon. Seeing really is believing, its stunning ! We then flew on to Boulder City, to take a raft down the colorado river. This was brilliant. We boarded the raft at the foot of the Hoover Dam and floated down the river for 3 to 4 hours, stopping twice for Lunch and a walk. It was a superb day, and this raft part really added to the day. Do it !
