Well folks, this is a big kids paradise. So much to do and so much to see in so little time. Well, that’s how it feels! It is truly a holiday for those of us who perhaps have reached that age when the kids are getting off hand and we need to rediscover ourselves.
If you have never been, it’s like going to the fairground for the first time, remember how that was? How exited you were, you didn’t know where to go first. Well that is the feeling I got when we arrived.
Our hotel was excellent, we stayed at the Golden Nuggett it was not on the strip itself but in Fremont Street, (the most photographed street in the world). It was not a problem and although we had a car it was just as easy to hop on a bus for $2, a flat fare that took you anywhere you wanted to go on the strip. If you did not feel like venturing out the entertainment and resturants in the Golden Nuggett were the best in Fremont Street. The rooms were beautiful and exceptionally spacious. The price of the hotel was very reasonable and if you join their exclusive casino club you get money off your room and many other benefits. Owing to the great rewards you get, I would suggest that any gambling you do is done at your own hotel.
The buffets supplied in the hotels are good value and inexpensive. The quality of the food is top class and you can eat as much as you want.
There is a fantastic shopping mall only 10 minutes away with every designer shop you can think of and the price of the goods found there is unbelievable. For shopaholics like me it is a definite must.
The hotels are breathtaking and in the evenings the whole place lights up with most hotels having their own free entertainment as well as the shows you pay to see. In my opinion the best free show on the strip was at the Rio, although the Fremont street experience was well worth seeing. The whole of the street lights up with a lazer show every hour from dusk.
My favorite hotel was the Bellagio. You would not believe you were inside. The whole of the recption is set outlike a flower garden and is changed every 72 hours. It would be an ideal place if you were planning on getting married in Vegas.
There is so much to see I wouldn’t know where to begin. The taxi drivers are quite informative and will tell you the “don’t miss” places and shows as well as some interesting facts about the hotels.
This is going to be the kind of place you either love or hate but you would have to go to find out. It is not a peaceful and restful holiday you can be on the go from early morning to early morning and I mean that literally! Go and may Lady Luck go with you.

Sorry to rate this only FH - But yoiu failed to mention even 1 name of a hotel, bar, restaurant, club or anything. Anyone who is interested in checking out your op, looking for advice on Vegas would already know it's a fairytale place with loads to do - but where do you recommend? What price are seats at shows, which ones are best. What was your hotel like - which one was it. What buffets are best to eat at, how much etc etc etc. I know that you cannot detail everything - but maybe update your op. I'd suggest looking at mine in this same category for info (although you don't neccesarily have to write 4000 words like I did)VEGAS - WHATS HOT, WHATS NOT - http://www.uk.ciao.com/opinion_view.php?OpinionId=5008774
