Having lived in Las Vegas for more than 20 years with previous occasional visits 2 or 3 times a year during the 70's I can probably give you a glimpse of the "now and then" of the city. As you can imagine, There isn't an inch of this place I haven't visited at least once and many could benefit from my hard earned experiences and many, many losses. This particular review is geared toward those who are attracted not so much for the glitter but the lure of gambling and I have a few pointers. Of course you're free to dispute my opinion but believe me - I've paid dearly to gain this knowledge - and all I want is for everyone to be careful, really careful when placing your bets. This said, I'd suggest NOT to play the slots. They are there with the worst odds in the World and the chances of hitting anything meaningful are very, very poor. Years ago, those darn machines could give you hours of pleasure gambling because they'd return frequently some money and, given enough play time (and some luck of course) you could spend 2 or 3 hours without going broke. Today, you better come with lots of cash and wait for nothing. Since the arrival of computerized machines, all of them are programmed in such a way that they have become an ATM for the house. Put your money in, play a little, put more money in, play a little bit more and repeat until you have no capital left. Of course, there is the infrequent jackpot and some places, especially small casinos and those in Downtown, that'll make a big deal out those hits, even with noisy calls from an enthusiastic floor person over the PA system. But don't kid yourself, machines are the worst bet you can make! Next time I'll continue with more of this.

Good review, my parents went to vegas recently, and everywhere they went there was the gambling slot machines, roulette tables, mostly in the hotels and restaurants areas. Some shopping, well there is the grand canyon and the hoover damn, the unfinished site lol. though mostly gambling.
