Advantages: Good value, lots to do, lots to see Disadvantages: Not in the Inidian Ocean or the Carribean
...Rhodes, one of the most famous islands in the world, you just never knew it. Many a movie has been shot on Rhodes, one of the most famous being the Guns of Navarone.
Visit Rhodes and relax, well thats a waste of a holiday. Rhodes is full of things to do. In length the island takes about 1 hour to drive and about 20 minutes to drive across.
When you go to Rhodes you should be ready for every type of activity; Rock Climbing, take the climbing course and climb the Navarone cliff, as seen on the Guns of Navarone movie; Water Sports are very popular in Rhodes, I recommend the Marco Polo boat tour leaving from Faliraki harbour every morning and afternoon, taking in the local spa at Kalithea, Anthony Quinn bay, several other beaches with snorkelling and a great lunch or evening meal on board boat all for the extortionate cost of £10...

Advantages: Beautiful and Idylic Disadvantages: Too many tourist shops and some steep walking.
...Unless you are actually staying in Lindos your first approach will from the top of the surrounding hills, so you will be greeted by the spectacular view; The ancient Acropolis set at the highest point of the town overlooking the sea, the crecent of sand and clear sparkling waters of St Pauls bay, and the tightly packed traditional greek white houses, shops and Villas; accented with the odd Italian style villa left over from the 1930's when Rhodes was an Italian governed island.

Another thing that Lindos is not short of is the most wonderful...

I have stood on a mountain and been able to see most of Rhodes, I have stood on the southern tip of the island and watched the sun go down creating what can only be described as breath-taking views, I have crawled through a tunnel to see some of the rarer species in the Butterfly gardens, I have stood on a cliff and watched countless million of Tunafish dancing in the late afternoon sun. All this and a lot more.
Rhodes Town is a typically bustling Mediterranean capital surrounding the ‘Old Town’ which...
