As a keen traveller, Switzerland seemed a very appealing destination for myself but i didn't know how good it actually was until I arrived. I stayed a short drive from Lausanne which is located North of Lake Geneva (or Lac Leman as it is named by the Swiss). The nearest airport is Geneva, and Lausanne can easily be reached from here.
Lausanne is a very beautiful city with some of the most breathtaking views over the mountains that you will ever behold. The first thing that hit me as I walked into Lausanne's centre was the Olympic Museum. If you are interested in sports, Lausanne is therefore the place to go. This Olympic Museum holds some of the most interesting and impressive Olympic memoribilia in the world. Clarke Fencing, who had a rather nice log cabin as his office so I thought I might as well enquire close to home. Sure enough he did sell them and had details of the range he could get. The range he sells are from a company called West Bank Timber Ltd and he said I could expect delivery within a week to ten days which was just perfect for me. I selected the Lausanne from the range with a single door size 2.4m square, it cost £754 plus VAT and he agreed to deliver it for nothing so I placed the order.

The scale of the Moon Palace is hard to comprehend - we arrived at night and after check in we meandered our way through to our room - it seemed a long way. The walkways to the rooms are covered and uncovered - however the covered ones are laid out in such a way that it is possible to get all the way back to your room without getting wet should it rain. We went in the June and it was prone to the odd shower but then immediately warmed agained. The walkways are perfectly suited for disabled access. The room blocks are gound, 1st and 2nd floor, so lots of ground floor rooms.
The rooms are fabulous - a large queen sized bed, a large jacquzi bath at the end of the bed seating area, TV, large bathroom with a very large shower with a seat in it. And all the usual facilities you expect in a hotel of this stature. The doors are not air tight ...
